About this Cook
I am an executive chef, retired, and I work part time with a friend at her pub helping her create a new atmosphere and teaching her young employees to cook, and doing her menu's and baking needs. I live with my husband, and our two dogs, a newfoundland and a belgian shephard. I have always loved to cook, and it's been very good to me and mine.
My favorite things to cook
I love southern Italian cuisine the best. I'd have to say that Greek or mediterranean food would be second, and we're indian food lovers here. My favorite things to cook are quick, simple meals since we both still work. Love to can foods though. Very yummy in december is Augusts tomatoes, peppers, and fresh herbs in a can.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Breakfast is always the very first meal taught here. I am helping break in my now 6 1/2 year old grandson to simple basics. He loves helping knead dough to make cinnamon rolls, and helps rolling them, and cutting them and panning them up. He's a born chef. We'll turn him into a cook yet. He really likes standing on a stool and washing dishes though best of all. LOL
My cooking triumphs
Teaching my son and my neices and nephews to cook. It's SO much fun to expand a young mind in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
Everyone has them, whether experienced, or a beginner. We are always learning and always experimenting. I am a great fan of "you learn something from everyone who touches your life". Let me say, my cooking tragedy's are several and I'd like to forget them. :-)

Lemon Zucchini Bars
This was very good. I only used half the oil and 1/2 cup applesauce in place of all the oil and I always use whole wheat pastry flour. Used 3/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar splenda for baking in place of all the sugar. It was moist, and so delicious. Will make this one again! I baked in a bundt pan for 45 minutes and topped it with a little powdered sugar and lemon juice mixed. MMM, delish!

Butt Stompin' Barbeque Sauce
The sauce was sweet, delicious, and hot all rolled up in one. It was wonderful on ribs. Absolutely the best I have had on pork ribs. I loved it. Its a keeper. Easily becoming a family recipe for good.
