About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Indian and Thai curries.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's pot roast. She serves it at almost every family gathering, and as good a cook as I am, I can't duplicate it, so I use an entirely different pot roast recipe (from Sheila Lukins).
My cooking tragedies
Back in 1968, when I was first married and learning to cook, I decided to make chili. Unfortunately, no one told me I had to soak the beans first. Ever had crunchy chili? We went out to eat.

Blue Cheese Cole Slaw
This is really good! The blue cheese kind of melts into the dressing for a pretty subtle flavor. I halved the mustard and went light on the sugar, and we really enjoyed the results!

Cola Sauerkraut
I'm giving this a 3 because I could stomach it at all -- I don't like sauerkraut, but made it for my half-German husband, who would probably rate it a 4.

Greek Penne and Chicken
I was in the mood for a chicken and pasta meal -- imagine my delight when I opened this site and this was the featured recipe. I also used marinated artichoke hearts and recommend that change. Leftovers were surprisingly good cold the next day!
