Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I followed the recipe and added the olive oil and balsamic vinegar as the past reviewers suggested, I marinated for 3 days and yet, there was NO flavor from the marinade at all in the end product. The lamb taste was totally overpowering, I love lamb but this recipe offered nothing, as if I had just roasted it with nothing else. I give it 3 stars because I still enjoyed the end result and maybe I should have used a smaller roast for the marinade to penetrate better. I think I might try again but not so sure.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is that it's way WAY too sweet and I like sweet frostings, I only ate half a slice of the white cake I frosted due to the sweetness of the frosting. It was also really soft and like another person said, it was hard to spread on the cake and I did use unsalted butter (as someone else suggested) Maybe it's because I used Neufchatel and not cream cheese. But overall it was very tasty, and cause it was so sweet I can't gorge on the stuff =)

Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
I really loved this recipe. very easy and it came out so moist and fluffy. I also baked it longer than the recipe said, a little less than an hour. I used a box of lemon supreme mix instead of yellow cake mix, egg substitute and diet 7UP with splenda. I iced it with chocolate icing and it was delicious.

Buffalo Shrimp

I loved it and it came out great! I used medium sized shrimp and I must say, you have GOT to use jumbos for better flavor. I also halved the recipe and it was still too much.

Should use low sodium soy sause like someone else suggested, it came out very very salty. It was still good though.

Excellent recipe. I love Chicken Fried Steak and this is one of the best. I didn't do the gravy and made my own instead. It was wonderful with Mashed Potatoes

Bill's Sausage Gravy

It was excellent, the best sausage gravy I ever had. Better than restaurant. I used Safeway brand buttermilk biscuits, this has become a household favorite.

Apple Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2003
I would give it 5 stars if only it would have tasted more like bananas and apples. They were very good and moist, but very bland. I expected them to taste more like the name suggests. I used both chopped and grated apples.

I did not like the recipe at all, but my husband did so I gave it 2 stars. It just did not have enough flavor and almost all of it went to waste. I will not make this again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2003
I really loved these cookies, my 2 year old could not get enough. My only problem was that I didn't space them far enough apart, so they all stuck together and stuck to the pan. Next time I will better grease my pan. They were great though, great morning sickness remedy!

Pan Fried Whole Trout

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2003
This is the only recipe I use when I buy Trout. I also cut the heads and tail off before cooking, the black smoke is also a tiny problem so be prepared. I tend to cook it at a lower temp for a little bit longer so as not to have the smoke. This tastes really great.

It needs a little more flavor, was a little too bland. All in all was a good side dish in my Thanksgiving dinner.

Creole Cornbread Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
For all the trouble it was to make, this stuffing was not what I expected. It came out like oatmeal consistancy and the flavor was not all that. Cornbread tasted like sawdust. Will not be making this again.

Grilled Lamb with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2002
I think this would have received 5 stars if I had a grill. The chops were good but I think they might have been better if I were able to grill them, the spice mix was tasty though even with pan frying.

Jamaican Me Crazy Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2002
When I first served it right after cooking, it was really very bland and didn't taste any different than chili you make from the spice packets. The next day it was better, but the day after that it was very delicious after I fixed it. I had to add a tsp each of cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes, and in my own bowl also poured on Tapatio hot sauce and that gave it a sweet, spicy flavor. I hate recipes that have a mile long list of ingredients and then taste bland, gimme a can anyday over this recipe as written.

I can't say enough of how much I love the recipe for the Pineapple Upside Down Cake. It is my favorite recipe and have made it quite a bit, I even made it for my neighbor who told me it was her favorite. She and her husband loved it, she said her husband almost licked the plate =) It is so soft and just melts in your mouth, delicious!
