Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Followed erecipe exactly as written. Delish. Easy - cookies were a little hard to roll if the dough got too warm, but that was it. Excellent flavor and texture.

This was great, but not sure it is substantially better than just using the seasoning packet that comes with the corned beef, as much as I hate to say that. I made 2 at the same time - one exactly as written and one adding a bottle of regular (e.g., lager) beer. The one with beer was better. My mom made one using the seasoning packet and people didn't seem to have a strong preference between all of them. (we had a large party so three corned beefs in one day!)

Grandma McAndrews' Irish Soda Bread

People went crazy for this easy bread at my St Patrick's Day party. My brother-in-law proclaimed me the "best baker ever." What more can you ask? Didn't change a thing.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Very solid cookie when you just want the basics. I followed everyone's advice and added extra flour and baking soda. Delish! They weren't flat and they stayed chewy. I'm not sure they will be my go-to cookie but I will be keeping the recipe.

Sherry Bundt Cake

Woah - this cake is GOOD. I normally don't do box cakes but I had some sherry to use up and thought I'd give it a shot. This was fantastic! I was short an egg, so I put a little extra sherry and a splash of milk. I lost my bundt pan so I put it in a springform pan. It turned out fantastic.

Deep South Fried Chicken

So easy. I used oil because it was all I had. I also coated in egg yolk per another reviewer's recommendation. Worked perfectly!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

yum! i didn't have enough shortening, so I used 1/2 butter and added the 1 tsp of vanilla. These were great - a little flat but great!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

These were good. My dough also was dry even though it didn't appear cooked and I only left them in for 18 minutes. I don't think I'd make them again even though other people seemed to like them. I will say they were best with frosting and that the yellow cake mix version was way better than the chocolate cake mix version (and I'm a total chocolate lover).

Harvest Pumpkin Cupcakes

These were super easy. The frosting is delicious. These do no get better the next day though. They were almost a 5 star recipe shortly out of the oven. By the next day, I found the cake to be kind of bland.

Black Bean and Chickpea Chili

I followed the recipe exactly. It gets big points for being easy, quick, made with ingredients I usually always have on hand, and very filling (great for a diet!). On the down side, there really wasn't much flavor.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

DELISH!!! Didn't change a thing, didn't add the butter and it couldn't have been easier or tastier. I used a REALLY old bottle of some random beer in my fridge (equivalent to a Bud). I can't wait to try this with other beers. This will probably become my standard quick bread.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Um... awesome. I didn't even make this because it was gluten free and served it to people who all can eat gluten. It was amazing - and took about 3 minutes to whip up. I heard someone at the party say "that's the person who brought the chocolate cake" and was asked for the recipe by 6 or 7 people. didn't change a thing

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

I didn't change a thing and am giving it 5 stars not because it is the most amazing soup you'll ever have BUT because it is really, really tasty & healthy and I was able to make it in 3 minutes before going to work today. Doesn't get any better than that for busy people!
