Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
These rolls! Oh these rolls! I promise, they are the BOMB and truly are 5 stars like everyone says. Please don't alter the recipe, try it as is and then alter it if need be. They are decadent, for sure but worth it!

Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
We just made this along with 4 other flavors of homemade ice cream and this was our favorite! I found some instant coffee at the store that came in single serve packets and it was hazelnut flavored! I think that added to the greatness of this wonderful recipe! It took 4 single serve packs to make 2 tbsn. We mixed thick caramel topping into the ice cream just before putting into the freezer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
I am rating this 4 stars because I didn't think it was very pretty when I turned it out upside down on a platter. I followed the directions to the tee. I think that if I had used white cake mix instead of yellow that the red would've shown more true and would have been more appetizing. The strawberries faded into the yellow and it was a weird bergundy color. As for flavor and consistency, I really enjoyed it. The marshmallows and jello make it a rich strawberry shortcake. It definitely should be served along side some whipped cream.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I served this with our Mother's Day meal! DIVINE! After going through 100+ reviews, I only made 1 major change: used 1/2 cup oil instead of 1 cup. I used a Devil's Food Mix. Instead of chocolate chips, I cut up 3 large dark chocolate bars into 1/4"-1/2" pieces. (50% or higher cacao) The women in my family were oh so happy! I covered the cake in the Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this site. Rich and wonderful!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
This is probably the most unique and amazing recipe I have tried on this site!!! My niece is gluten intolerant and I am always looking for recipes to try for her! She and no one else in my family could determine the secret ingredient. THIS TASTES AMAZING! The density is wonderful, has a cheesecake appeal. I am going to use the garbanzos as a base and maybe add white choco chips or butterscotch chips for a different kind of cake. To take this recipe over the top, I added the Satiny Chocolate Glaze (from this site) over the top and put chocolate dipped strawberries all around. YEAH!

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
Oh how I love this bread! The texture is superb!!! I put all the ingredients into my bread machine and selected dough cycle. I took out the dough, shaped it into a loaf and cooked in my oven @ 350 for 20 min. I put cornmeal beneath the loaf of dough. I let it rise for 30 minutes prior to baking. After it rose, I cut 3 large diagonal slices on the top, spread butter over the entire top and then sprinkled tons of rolled oats on top of the butter. WOW, does it look amazing when it's done!!! Looks like a $6 loaf of bread. THANKS!

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
I am giving this 4 stars because I feel that there is not enough fruit filling called for in this recipe. Like others have noted, I would increase the jam to 2 cups. I would use the tartest jam you can find to compliment the sweetness of the cake. Using lemon juice adds to the tartness as well. I did not use all the crumb mixture, probably had a cup leftover and it was perfect. Wait until these are totally cooled to cut. I cut them in triangles for added effect. I will make these again with endless jam/cake mix combos...can't wait to try choco cake w/ raspberry jam!!

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
I am so glad I came upon this recipe! I am a WW member and have been searching for a delicious 1 point cookie! I took this recipe and turned it into a 1pointer...Here are the changes I made to make them 1 point each: 1/2 cup whole wheat flour + 1/2 cup AP flour, 1/3 cup sugar & 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter + 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/8 cup mini chocolate chips. My kids loved them, what else is there to say? :)

High Flavor Bran Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
Great bread! Very hearty, has the density of a batter bread, like banana bread. I am very happy with how moist it turned out. Hubby likes it with PB & J! I used Fiber 1 original and you can see chunks of that throughout the bread, looks cool. My 4 y.o. called this treat bread, now that's pretty awesome!

Cranberry BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Just made this for 15 of my family members! They loved it, including 4 kids! Please, follow the directions exactly as written, using whole cranberry sauce and using the veggies. I took the advice of another user and got a spicy BBQ sauce to balance out the sweetness of the cranberry sauce. I also sauteed 4 cloves of garlic with the onion and celery. 5 star, all the way.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
This is an excellent, decadent recipe. Please, just try the recipe as it's written, it's perfect as is! When I am making this and I want it to be on the lighter side, I simply double the amount of potatoes and use light sour cream and half the butter. Believe me, you won't tell the difference and no one else does either. Don't skimp on the bacon, get the best stuff you can, I get Applewood Smoked from Target. Makes a huge difference.

Sweet Baby Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
I gave this 5 stars for incredible taste! It's more like a treat. You can get incredible taste with just 1/4 the butter and sugar...I only used 2 tbsn butter, 1/2 tbsn honey and 2 tbsn brown sugar and still, it tastes amazing. Remember that carrots are naturally sweet once cooked. I also added 1/2 tsp cinnamon :)

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
These are a great tasting muffin for having so much fiber! I was looking for a recipe on this site that would be very low in WW points. I made some modifications to make each one 2 points. I substituted 1/3 cup applesauce for the oil. I added only 1/2 cup sugar, which was plenty sweet. I added 1 tsp cinnamon and put in a full tsp vanilla for extra flavor. And, just so my kids would eat them, I put in 3 tbsn of mini choco chips! I will make these a lot :)

Southern Style Banana Split Cake

This sure is a crowd pleaser! YUMMO! I made up some homemade hot fudge sauce (1 cup choco chips, 1/2 cup cream, 1/3 cup corn syrup & melted on stove) to serve along side! I also used light cream cheese and light whipped topping and you couldn't tell. Thanks for sharing!

Sausage and Cranberry Stuffing

This was awesome! I pulled some turkey out of the bird in the oven before it was done and used that instead of sausage! I also used some turkey juices in place of chix broth. Oh my heck, yummy!

Pretzel Turtles

Yes!! An easy candy recipe! You can use any tiny pretzel, doesn't have to be round. A rolo bag has 56 candies in it so make 56 of these things. And, if serving to anti-nut folks, put 3 m&m's on top instead of the pecan!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Made this for Father's Day and it was a big hit with a huge WOW factor! The pudding mixed with the sweetened condensed milk tastes like a yummy mouse! Next time, I am going to throw some heath bar, other candy bar, or chocolate chips into the brownie mix before they cook for some added texture. I highly recommend refrigerating overnight before eating. Oh, this keeps well in the fridge for nearly a week if you don't eat it all the first try :)

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
This recipe is flawless. I hope you'll follow it to the tee! If you have any people that don't like nuts, omit the pecans like I did for half the recipe. I have made this 6 times and everyone acts like they are better than Cinnabon! My only suggestion, double the recipe for frosting because people like to add on more :o)
