About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, but I hardly ever do. Dinners need to be done, dessert is superfluous, sadly.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Are you kidding? Everything I ate growing up came out of a can or was previously frozen. I'm trying to foist traditions onto my family!
My cooking tragedies
My favourite cooking tragedy was the holiday season meal I cooked for 6 with a nasty case of the flu (I washed my hands constantly!) As I began to serve it I realized the peppercorn crusted pork loin with parsnips, the cauliflower, the mashed potatoes THEY WERE ALL WHITE. The weirdest thing ever. So the cauliflower got an instant pink salad dressing-based sauce and I threw in a jar of olive paste into the potatoes. Making the dinner highly white, pink and grey. Still not pretty. Oh well, the guests were all bachelors and just glad of a really tasty home cooked meal.

Lemon Butter Cookies
I added two bars of chopped good quality white chocolate to these, and they were excellent. Be sure to chop the zest to nearly nothing - zest near the surface of the cookies became hard and not too pleasant.

Bread Machine Challah I
Truly wonderful! Like so many other people, mine came out a bit darker than I'd like. But I still can't complain - it's delish.
