MORE
I cook almost every day of the week and find allrecipes.com very helpful. Every time I can't come up with something to make, I turn to all recipes.com. It's SO much easier than searching through the tons of cookbooks I own. :)
My favorite things to cook
Quiches are great for breakfast since they can be prepared the night before and then popped in the oven. I love making dishes that use seasonal items. For example, a tomato, basil, avocado, and onion salad is perfect in summer and squash recipes are great in fall!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my mom making dozens of Lepkuchen cookies at Christmas time and storing them in large metal popcorn tins with an apple to keep them soft.
My cooking triumphs
I'm always excited when anything I make with yeast turns out. Pretzels from scratch and english muffins are my two most recent triumphs.
My cooking tragedies
I tried making a recipe I found from another site. WHAT a disaster. The recipe called for wonton wrappers in replace of noodles for lobster ravioli. I spent the $$$ on the lobster just to have the dish ruined with the wonton wraps. In hindsight, I should have known they wouldn't work. I questioned it, but figured it would be good if they posted it online. I'll stick with allrecipes.com from now on.
