Sam's Famous Carrot Cake
Your grandfather's legacy certainly does live on, because this is the best carrot cake I have ever tasted and we've made it several times and counting! (Including one baking right now - tried a tube pan this time and increased the recipe by 1/3 because I had a lot of carrots to use up.) It's the only carrot cake recipe I'll ever use again.

Kentucky Butter Cake
I baked this cake in two layer pans and did not use the glaze/frosting. Instead I frosted it with buttercream frosting. Be careful not to overcook. I made it twice, and the first time it was a bit dry, but that was my mistake for overcooking. Second time it was excellent and moist. Great butter cake - we had to make it twice because everyone loved it so much.

Gingerbread Cookies
This is a long-time favorite in my family - I had it scribbled on the back of a 4-yr-old receipt, and searched to see if it had been published by anyone else and here it is. BUT the chocolate frosting is not included in my recipe (I would never add that, but that's just my preference). Instead, we glaze it with a confectioner's sugar and lemon juice/rind glaze.
