About this Cook
I love fall/winter cooking best! Hearty soups are my favorites, along with roasts and stews. OH, nothing like homemade bread baking at the same time too! The aromas will make you float!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my father. We use to cook together, and have so much fun creating wonderful food! But everytime, somehow, we got food on the kitchen ceiling, much to my Mother's dismay! (But it was kind of funny.) My father was not only known for being a great surgeon, but a true gormet also.
My cooking triumphs
Seven layer tarts/cakes. Soups. Appetizers. My chocolate pecan pie...better than the recipes here; guess I'd better submit it someday!
My cooking tragedies
Homemade cinnamon rolls. I am cinnamon roll impaired! They always turn out like hocky pucks. No matter what recipe I have tried throughout the years, I am just going to give up on this ONE thing. Oh well. Pillsbury will save me on this! And the time I made lasagna for the very first time when I was a teen; the recipe said "four cloves of garlic" for the sauce. I used FOUR ENTIRE FLOWERS OF GARLIC. Must have been at least equal to 50 cloves! Kept away any vampires for years. (And I didn't get married until I was 34...???)

Fluffy Pancakes
VERY fluffy! Only I didn't find as much flavor as I would have liked, and I did add vanilla extract. You know, maybe substitute a quarter cup of flour and use a quarter cup of powered buttermilk. Still, I will make again, love the fluffiness and texture of these pancakes!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
So yummy and easy to make! I did add just a bit of lemon zest into the cheesecake mixture, and then sprinkled some lemon zest on top....so pretty!

Unbelievable Chicken
This was really really good! Even if one uses this as a "base" marinade, and decides to add barbecue sauce at the last minute, the marinade really adds a lot of flavor that goes deep into the chicken. This one is a keeper! I am passing this recipe onto friends and family.
