About this Cook
I have never cooked in a restaurant. Growing up, I've learned most about cooking meals by watching family members. I have also learned by trial and error and my husband was always the guinea pig! My husband and family have raved over meals I have cooked, most of which were created on a whim or inspired by meals that I have tried in restaurants.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian food! But we've tried other ethnic foods as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family likes to get together to try new recipes or as we have done in the past, eat other ethnic foods. We've had Irish, Mexican, German and Italian nights and it has grown into a great tradition that the family loves. We try to do this two to three times a year and everyone brings their favorite recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I enjoy cooking. I enjoy cooking for family even more and I love to entertain during the holidays! Everyone looks forward to the wide array of food during the holidays!
My cooking tragedies
Chicken and dumplings in a slow cooker!!! NEVER TRYING THAT AGAIN!!!!

Easy Lemon Cake
This cake is amazing! I made it for a picnic at our church and it was an instant hit! My only regret was that I didn't make more than one!

Apple Crisp II
This was the best recipe I've ever tasted! I used 1/4 cup of apple juice in place of the water, and I put the water in the pan first. Also, next time I think I will use less sugar because even with the granny smith apples, it was super sweet! I also doubled the topping recipe and added a pinch of nutmeg to both the apples and the topping. I also added some cooking time because 45 min. wasn't long enough for my oven. I served it with Vanilla ice cream and Caramel topping. It was a hit!

Lisa's Macaroni and Cheese
I tried this recipe once and I loved it! It took me forever to find this recipe again! I am using it for guests at Easter dinner. Lisa, your recipe is wonderful! The only thing that I did differently was add a little ground mustard! Its just a preference of my husbands!!!!!
