Dried Cherry and Cranberry Sauce

Good balance of tart and sweet. I actually served this warm, instead of cooling it down to top pork chops. Only alteration to the recipe was a little cornstarch/water mixture to thicken it some. Would recommend!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

I'd say awesomest, if such a word existed. This is always our Thanksgiving stuffing. Even my great cook of a grandmother who doesn't eat much goes back for seconds on this one. Although I'm sure it tastes just as good with the turkey liver, I can never bring mysef to put it in! Also, if you can commit to the fat, the flavor from actual pork sausage (drained) instead of the turkey sausage pushes this into "phenominal" territory. Thank you thank you thank you to whoever created this!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Phenominal! No joke. The outside edges of this almost taste like they caramelize. I replace 1/3rd of the vegetable oil with apple sauce to skim some calories without changing the taste, and add an additional 1/2 tsp nutmeg. The only negative about this bread is it's hard to stop eating it! So eat your veggies and protien first at dinner time, because once you reach for this bread, it's all over!

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Phenominal with Guittard brand semi-sweet chocolate chips (they're sold in copper-colored bags; easy to spot). Great, easy recipe to begin with, and the extra-special chips give a depth of chocolate flavor almost like a dark chocolate but without the bitterness. Watch out thighs, here they come!

Good flavor but came out terribly dry after forgetting other's idea of putting in a liquid like beef broth. Imperative to add liquid; I wil not forget again!

I was blown away by how good this was! A bit time consuming, yes, but so easy for so much flavor! I added garlic powder and pepper to the season along with the salt. AWESOME.

Very nice dish, but waaaay too much butter; I reduced the amount and it still seemed like fat with a side of vegetables. Will try halving the butter next time.

Surprisingly good! Although there seemed to be so few vegetables when mixed together that I added the rest of the bag (equalling 5 cups frozen vegetables) and there was more than enough sauce to coat.

Key Lime Cheesecake I

Must be for hard-core key lime lovers, which apparently my husband and I are not. Very tart, not like any cheesecake I've ever had. But if you do think this is still up your alley, I've got a great "cheat" idea for juicing the key limes as a wrist injury made me get a bit more creative: cut in half as usual, but put in a GARLIC PRESS!!! Seemed so much easier!

Irish Soda Bread I

Wonderful. It was gobbled up at our St. Patrick's dinner faster than I would have anticipated! I added an additional 1/2 cup of golden raisins too which improved both the taste and the look of it when sliced.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Just wonderful! Served it to 6 at a dinner party, and everyone loved it; I could tell it was true because it was so quiet with everyone just plowing through it! I poured it into two 9" pans like another had, but it took nearly 45 minutes to cook through. Next time I'll try using dried currants instead of raisins because their size would lend itself to this.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

It's just as tasty as it is pretty! Eight green onions would have been far too much for me, so I only used half that, and it seemed just right. I look forward to making this again and again!
