About this Cook
I live at the beach with my wonderful husband - a martial arts trainer - and my dog Pilot, who literally 'talks'. Non-stop. She never shuts up. She gets that from her heritage - she's half chocolate lab; half husky.
My favorite things to cook
THANKSGIVING DINNER! Lots of things - soups, baked goods, appetizers, main dishes - you name it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
THANKSGIVING DINNER! I do a lot of my own freezing during the summer. We always have delicious blueberry pie, lima beans with corn and tomatoes, pepper relish, to name a few!
My cooking tragedies
When it comes to hard boiled eggs, I'm useless without my drop in egg timer. I have a bread maker, but am not much for making it outright.

Chocolate Toffee Crunchies
EXCELLENT. I made 3 batches of these for the holidays. I found I needed to increase the toffee layer to 3/4 c each of butter and brown sugar in order to have enough to cover the entire dish. Also, due to nut allergies, I used Heath toffee bits as the topping. Definitely a keeper!

Buttermilk Biscuits I
This is perfect for me! I love homemade bread, and occasionally whip out the breadmaker, but I'm not much on making it from scratch. I don't have the patience for rising, punching, rolling, punching, rising...This was quick, easy, and they are so light and fluffy. DELICIOUS. It makes homemade bread a possibility for me.

Best Ever Caramel Apple Crisp
This recipe was really good; lots of compliments. I am going to cut back on the crumb portion of the recipe. It made a nice crust, but I had too much left over. The caramel really set it off well.
