About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
With a new house and a new baby I love anything that's easy and tastes great! We still love to have people over, so any meal that looks like it took all day is great too. I'm really getting into baking...which my husbands hates (he's trying to loose the baby weight...;)) But I guess what I'm trying to say is I'll try anything once!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is an awesome cook, I was lucky enough to have home-cooked dinners every night...unless the oven was out. So I guess my favorite family traditions are family dinners and "big" Sunday breakfasts with the whole family. I also am addicted to our stuffing and Christmas cookie recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Everytime something turns out good and Andy eats it....it's a triumph! Every dinner party I've ever thrown would be a triumph too.
My cooking tragedies
That cottage cheese casserole that I made...not good. Other than that I think that I've been able to salvage almost everything that I've made!

Chicken Satay
Fantastic! I made this on the stove top, added green beans and simmered the chicken and beans in the marinade. With rice pilaf on the side it made for a satisfying and healthy dinner. I used only about 1/4 of tamari, more garlic and I think it could have used a touch more brown sugar, otherwise it was really, really great! Even my 11 mo old daughter liked it!

Crustless Cranberry Pie
I made this for a play date and it went over awesome! It was easy to throw together in the afternoon and I had mom's asking for the recipe! I'm making it again tonight for Book Club, great recipe!

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade
I have used this marinade many times now and it never fails! Even if I only let it sit for a few hours in the afternoon, by dinner time it's fantastic. Once I even subbed onion and garlic powder because I was in a hurry. Not as fantastic, but I still got requests for the recipe. This marinade is a winner!
