About this Cook
Husband and stepfather since '95, grandfather since '97. Truck driver for city public works dept. Dad to two spoiled cocker spaniels. I love to bake cookies, brownies, biscotti, bars, etc. I tell my wife that this is what we'll sell at our coffee shop. She thinks I'm kidding.
My favorite things to cook
Love to bake. At Christmas I bake fruitcakes for people my wife works with. They sincerely like them and I get more and more orders every year. I "specialize" in about a dozen different cookies. Also practice with different biscottis, bars brownies and fudge. I cook family holiday meals for up to 30 people (so far). I'd like to try a banquet setting sometime for church. My wife is Italian so I like to delve into Italian cooking. Like to grill, smoke bar b que whenever possible. Like to make soups in winter. I put down that I am an intermediate cook. I'm learning too much all the time to be an expert.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays. I love to have the whole family over to cook for. My wife hates the cleaning.
My cooking triumphs
Everything edible and that I get compliments on.
My cooking tragedies
I made cheesecakes for a meeting at work. I set it too close to the edge of the table and my dog licked a hole into the side of it. It was still good.

Tudor Recipe for Ginger Beer
It is good but very strong for my taste. I think the next time I make it I will add an additional 2 1/2 cups of water and another 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Has a unique taste compared to my ginger ale pallette.
