Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
I have been making these treats for 8 years and nobody ever gets tired of them. We have several families to visit for the holidays and one year I didn't bring these and didn't hear the end of it. I keep a cup of warm water handy to dunk my scoop/spoon to remove dough easier. You can also pipe the dough. I also add pumpkin spice in place of individual spices. Very delicious! Very filling!

Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This is excellent! I do half and half sour cream / mayo as mentioned. I add a can of Rotel with green chiles and a clove of diced garlic. This tastes good warm or cold. Serve with Authentic corn tortilla chips or Fritos Scoops. I serve warmed enchilada sauce as a dip to this dip. Plus jalepeno slices for those who like more heat.

This is simple and delicious. Reduce the salt and serve at room temperature. A new fall treat for my family.

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This is absolutely delicious! I really smooshed the bread down to make it all fit before I poured in the egg mixture. I cut down on the sugar and cooked it for 1-1/2 hours to fully cook the middle. I also uncovered it for the last 1/2 hour. This was delicious and very filling. You only need 1/2 piece (a hungry guy can eat a whole piece). I only fit six slices in a 9 x 13 pan, too (I was able to get 4 slices high - barely). A new family favorite!

Perfect Turkey

This was my first brine recipe! I love it! It is easy and juicier than any turkey I've had before. Definately stuff the cavity with onion, celery and carrots. A family keeper!

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This was an excellent brine! I do prefer the much simpler salt and water recipe, but if I have the time this is great. I didn't use the savory, but added a bay leaf. I use a large pot that I bought from a warehouse club. I didn't have room in my fridge, but kept adding ice and since it's winter, kept it outside on our 2nd floor balcony out of the sun.

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
This is just like the sausage gravy recipe I learned from my friend's grandmother when I was a kid. My mother-in-law also makes it this way. It's a family tradition. Now that I have this recipe, I no longer have to guess at the milk to flour ratio!!!! Thank you, Rene!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
I first made this dip and printed this recipe back in 2000 when I joined. It is absolutely delicious. I also use Bertolli alfredo and the whole package of cream cheese. For all of those non artichoke and spinach people - don't be surprised if you love this dip. I just don't tell the kids what's in it.

Fabulous Football Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
I love this and so do all of the guys and gals! I serve in a football shaped crock pot with Fritos scoops and authentic tortilla chips. Delicious. The longer it sits the hotter it gets. You can use hot sausage if you can handle the heat. It's great with regular or double the batch and use one of each.

Garlic Top Sirloin Pot Roast

This is a family favorite. Not for the non-garlic lover. The good thing is everyone enjoys this so much, everyone's breath will smell like garlic as much as yours. Great recipe.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

This is the best and so easy. At first the chives and parsley threw me, but wow are they a great flavor addition to what some think is a bland meal. Excellent. Thank you for the new addition to my menu.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2006
Wow! I'm not a beer fan, but this is the best French Dip ever... I served mine with slices of swiss cheese and grilled onions on French Bread. Be sure to serve the au jus is cups wide and deep enough to dip your sandwich into. Because I made this before I went to work in the morning, on the way home, I stopped at our favorite place for Fries and picked up a couple of bags. Everyone was happy. My neice (a ketchup lover) even dipped her fries in the au jus.

Pork Roast with Thyme

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2006
I really tried to follow everyone's advice with adding water instead of some of the vinegar. It didn't turn out well. I felt so bad that I had to waste such a beautiful roast. I liked the way it smelled when it was done, but wow was it sour tasting. I love to cook with vinegar. Try making Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast - it is delicious - a family favorite...

Chicken In Basil Cream

My friend gave me this recipe about five years ago. I make it often and serve it over angel hair. Make sure to scrape up the bits at the bottom of the pan when you add the cream. Yummy!!! It is so good and so creamy. Excellent recipe.

Pork Chops to Live For

Easy, good, but a little bit lacking. Maybe some spices or O'Brien potatoes? I'll try that next time. Or serve it with rice and veggies....

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
Excellent. I used McCormick Italian Seasoning grinder and added garlic and onion powder to corn flakes. I only used 1-1/2 cups sour cream and 2 cups corn flakes with five decent sized chicken breats (probably 1 - 1-1/2 lbs). Definately a keeper.

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2005
This is the only way I'll make my french toast. It tastes like a restaurant's. The flour is the secret. Instead of adding cinnamon to the batter, I dip the bread, flip, sprinkle with cinnamon, put on the griddle (cinnamon side down), and sprinkle on the other side. I love it with cinnamon.

Shredded Beef for Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2005
I was a little skeptical about the frozen roast, but everything was delicious. I used a light white wine (Chardonay) and made sure to skim some fat off before shredding. If you don't want to spend a long time with a spoon, try lightly laying a paper towel on top of the liquid to pick up the fat on top. Excellent flavor and great recipe!!!
