Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I doubled the apples to 4 cups and it still turned out great. Kept everything else the same, except used brown sugar in topping instead of white. Thanks for a great way to use up sour cream and apples!

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Easy and very good. A nice change of pace from our normal pork chop. I used a vegetable boullion cube to make 1 c. broth since I didn't feel like opening a can of beef broth. Worked great and everyone enjoyed.

I lowered sugar to 1/2 c. These were great and my kids keep asking for them. Nice addition to supper or as a snack. I used 4 medium bananas.

Almond Crescent Buns

I learned you must flip them out immediately, I waited like 1 minute and they were sticking to the pan. An easy recipe but I don't think I'll make again.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
These are great, but they make more like 18 muffins. I haven't made the strusel topping yet though since I've been serving them with supper. I added some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. Great, thank you!!!

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Reduced the sugar and skipped the pecans. Exactly what I was hoping for. Tastes like pumpkin bread. Why does the sweet potato turn green after a few hours? Not very appealing to take to a bible study, but I did.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This was way too "hot" for me. I couldn't handle it. Otherwise it'd be great, and I will make it again w/ much less of the hot sauce. Bummer!

An update from the submitter: Sprinkle the salt and sage on the browned pork before laying in the baking dish. Making this for supper tonight and just wanted to update the recipe for those that had asked what to do with the seasonings.

Snickerdoodle Chex® Mix

I doubled the recipe since after popping the microwave popcorn, I saw it made about 8 cups. This recipe was really good and we will be making it again. It went over really well at a get together this past weekend. The chocolate chex are amazing!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
Guests kept asking me what I did to the pork when I served this at my husband's 30th birthday (they loved it). I look forward to making this again soon. I paid 14.99 for an 8 oz bag of the salt at a local health food store. I will have the salt for many more times making this. Served with Jack Daniel's Hickory Brown Sugar sauce and the Hawaiian sweet rolls (small dinner sized rolls found at Walmart). The most time consuming part is taking the fat off, about 15 minutes or so since I am very picky about getting it off. It was worth setting my alarm for 4am to put the pork in the crockpot. About 13 hours on low, with the shredded pork soaking in the strained juices for the last hour.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I used 2 c. chocolate chips instead of any walnuts. I baked them longer than 12 minutes since they seemed gooey when I checked them, but maybe I should have pulled them out at 12 because they seemed dry to me a day or 2 later.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Couldn't be easier! I didn't have Italian dressing on hand so I used Balsamic Vinegarette. I still prefer to make my own bbq sauce, but this came together so quickly, sometimes that's more important.

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This cake is perfection! I have made a lot of cakes and this one really hits the spot. You must try this to believe how good it is. I made this for my husband's 30th birthday party and everyone loved it. This is way better than some of the cakes I've ordered from bakeries. Definitely try this and follow exactly, I wouldn't add anything. I frosted with a simple vanilla almond buttercream icing, 3 c. confectionary sugar, 1/3 c. butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp. almond extract and 1-2 Tbsp. milk. Make sure to read the recipe correctly to use the right size pan. I read too fast and used a 7x11 inch pan and it came out perfectly but very high and took forever to bake at 325. I think a 9x13 would be fine also. thank you CUPYCAKESMURF!

Pineapple Ham and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Nice sweet rice recipe. I used this with chicken BBQ. Make sure you measure your rice after cooking it to be sure you have 2 cups, this might help make sure it's not too liquidy. I drained the pineapple and skipped the ham. I'll be tripling this recipe for a party this weekend!

Thanks Ashley! I used semi-sweet instead of milk chocolate chips but everything else I followed to a T. They look good and taste even better! I had to quick package them up so I wouldn't eat them all!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
I didn't have any taco sauce on hand, so I used taco seasoning mixed with water, well I should have known that'd be too watery, so my shells did leak a bit when cut to eat. It was still good and next time I'd just make sure to use taco sauce and also my husband didn't like the tortilla chips baked on, he said he wants those on the side. With some of the juice they got mushy. First time using stuffed shells, next time I'd make a few extra just in case.

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
This is a great recipe, I'm always looking for peach dessert recipes in August and this one is a keeper! I omitted the sugar and water, our peaches are juicy and sweet enough. I creamed the cream cheese and butter into the cake mix and sprinkled it all on top of the peaches. Delicious!

Honey Bun Cake I

I cut the icing in 1/2 for a bundt pan. The bundt size took 50-53 minutes to bake. I sprayed it well and let cool slightly before flipping it out. Cool before icing.
