Nana's Apple Crisp

This recipe is AWESOME! I followed the recipe, except that I doubled the crumbly mixture, and layered about 1/3 of the mixture on the bottom and put the rest on the top. Everyone LOVED it!

Chocolate Chip Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
This turned out great! We loved it! After the first 25 minutes I sprinkled additional chocolate chips on the top since most of them did seem sink to the bottom. This was amazing hot & it was just as good the next day when it was cold.

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
Leftovers were just as good the next day! I mostly followed the recipe, except that I did add a sauted onion and added only 1 cup of milk. I did microwave the potato slices ahead of time for a couple of minutes to cut down on the baking time. I ended up baking it about 50 minutes.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

This was great - I don't know why, but I just wasn't expecting it to be so yummy! I followed the recipe, except that I substitued the beer with chicken broth. I made it with corn bread on the side and my husband loved it! I will definitely make this again.

Delicious Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
This was super easy and much better than the canned stuff. I did add a couple more tablespoons of brown sugar at the end as I prefer it on the sweeter side. I think a little orange zest might be good in this too, I will try that next time. Suggestion: Wear a black shirt when making this, the berries can "pop" some of the juice on you if your not careful!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
This recipe is amazing! I followed this recipe exactly. I did make my own vanilla glaze for on top and added a little cinnamon to the glaze. I made one loaf and a pan of muffins. The muffins were done after 30 minutes. The loaf took 48 minutes. Highly recommend this!

Baked Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
I liked this but my husband did not, he said it was soggy and I ended up eating his portion. I would make this again, I'm not sure if I did something wrong which is why it was soggy. I will try it with olive oil next time to see if that makes a difference.

Grilled Chicken and Potato Foil Packs

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
I liked this but for some reason my green peppers tasted bitter. Next time I will try yellow and red peppers instead of the green. Also, I'm not sure if I would use the cider vinegar again, maybe I will use wine or a different kind of vinegar or dressing. This is a good base recipe and anyone can customize the veggies or spices based on preference. Clean up was a breeze!

Baked Pasta Primavera Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Super quick, super easy! We thought this was really good - I followed the recipe mostly except that I cut down the cheese I used because I didn't quite have 2 cups of mozzarella. I used whole wheat pasta also to make it more healthy. My 18 month old daughter liked it and my hubby said he really liked the added texture and flavor the veggies added. It seems like it will warm up well too, but I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow!

Baked Mushrooms

These were good. I omitted the water as some other reviewers suggested. I thought they were a little bland, so I will definitely add additional spices next time. I think they tasted better the second day and they warmed up well.

Cajun Cake

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
I followed the instructions exactly, even though based on other reviews I was a little worried about the butter. My husband thought it was too buttery, but I thought it was good. We both thought it tasted better the next night after the butter had soaked through completely and it was cold from being in the refrigerator. I really couldn't taste the pineapple in this very much, so I might add more if I make this again. My cake turned out very moist! I don't even want to think about the calorie count on this one...

Gnocchi with Sage-Butter Sauce

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
I made this for lunch yesterday & I thought this was a tasty/different way to make gnocci. Next time I make this I will add some fresh sauteed spinich. This would be good served with garlic bread & salad, which I will do next time. My todder also liked it!

Stuffed Pepper Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Yum - we loved this! I did use worcestshire sauce rather than soy, added 1/2 cup of chopped onions & added an extra green pepper. I also left out the salt. I served this with fresh olive oil bread from the bakery. It made great leftovers, even though it wasn't nearly as "soupy" by the next evening. (most of the liquid had been absorbed by the rice). Great recipe, I will be making this again! Thanks!

This was okay, defnitely for someone who likes a more bland type of soup. I will probably try a different recipe next time.

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

I made these as a side dish to my New Year's Day lunch. They turned out great. I lined the pan with parchment paper like someone suggested and I would definitely recommend doing this for easy clean up.

Hearty Bean Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This turned out really good - I made it for my New Year's Day lunch and everyone complimented this and my sister asked for the recipe. I personally thought it tasted a little bit "vinegary", so I'm not sure if I accidentally added too much, but no one else seemed to think so.

Breakfast Casserole II

We loved this! I used thawed tater tots as many reviewers did and I added a bit of season salt to the eggs along with pepper. We had a lot of leftovers - half of the recipe would still be plenty for just 2 people. This reheated very nicely.

Spicy Bean Salsa

I made this for a picnic this past weekend - everyone loved it and several people asked for the recipe. I used only about 1/2 the amount of Italian dressing.
