About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I should be embarrassed to admit this on a cooking site, but if I put a couple chicken breasts in a baking dish, slather them with cream of mushroom soup, and cook 'em for an hour at 350, I am a hero wherever I go. Add a crisp green salad and some warm bread, and I'm Angelina Jolie.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot make a decent pizza crust to save my life!

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes
Very nice! I love roasted veggies so it's always great to get a new recipe I threw in some carrots, since the honey glaze seemed to call out for them, and they were fabulous. Based on previous reviews, I doubled the sauce mix, stirred every 15 minutes (which cuts down on the messy pan problem), and cooked longer at a higher temp. Very nice recipe. Thank you!

Ziti with Italian Sausage
I liked this a lot. After reading the reviews, I omitted the celery and halved the pasta. I didn't have any mushrooms on hand, so that was out, although next time I'll buy some. I like spicy food so used hot Italian sausage and Anaheim peppers. (I know, wouldn't it be nice if we just reviewed the actual recipe??) Anyway, this was a great baked ziti recipe that can be adapted to anybody's taste. It's important to stick to the 30 minute cooking time, though, as opposed to 45. Thanks, George, this is a keeper.

Clam Chowder Canadian Military Style
I salute you! My cupboard was particularly bare when I needed a base recipe for clam chowder. I had canned clams, and always have evaporated milk on hand. This is a great recipe. I served it with hearty garlic bread, and we were happy campers. Thank you!
