Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Very good. I substituted unsalted butter, added a pinch of salt and 1 tsp vanilla. Baked at 325 on convection for 12 minutes. Cookies puffed, but flattened on cooling. Good and chewy!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
Very good. I substituted butter for the shortening and Splenda for the sugar. I will definitely make this again with changes: add 1/2 tsp vanilla to the crumb mix (a little bland); split the recipe between two 8x8's to make thinner bars. My bars were too thick. Also I will carefully split the crumb in half to not get too much of it on the bottom.

Tater Tot Hot Dish II

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
The recipe as is would get 3 stars. Skip the salt - the soup has plenty. I chopped half an onion to cook with the beef and put that in the bottom of the pan and covered with half the tots. I mixed a can of Ro-tel into the soup and poured over the tots then sprinkled on a layer of grated cheddar and baked for 20 min. Added the remainder of the tots and baked 25 min to brown nicely. I didn't think the uncrisped tots under the sauce would be good, but my family loved the combination and they were cooked perfectly. This one is a keeper for the comfort food category!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Really good flavor. Only substitution was half applesauce for oil. Use fine grater to prevent "crunchy" cake.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Perfectly awesome! I did not refrigerate the dough at all. The cookies were not flat as other reviewers have experienced. I followed the directions exactly with no substitutions. Next batch I will add toasted walnuts. I've baked hundreds of chocolate chip cookie batches and this is a winner. The only tweak I will work on is to substitute some baking powder for the soda to improve browning.

Good flavor from garlic, but needs milk. It gets dry way too quick.

This was a huge hit with my family. Really easy to marinate in a ziploc bag while I was at work, then a quick grilling and we were ready to serve. Yummy!
