Fruity Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This was a great sidedish! I added just a bit of butter to the apples, celery and brown sugar and micorwaved the filling just a bit before adding into the partially baked squash. I was serving it with roasted pork loin so I wanted to do it in the oven. It made a big hit and was just as good reheated later in the week. I'll definately make it again!

Shrimp Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Very easy recipe. I altered the recipe just a bit by adding in mushrooms, carrot slivers, mini corn, waterchestnuts & bamboo shoots. Also I left out the beansprouts. The flavor was a bit to salty despite the fact that I used low sodium soy sauce. Next time I'll cut it down to 2T soy during the cooking and add more upon serving if necessary. Also, next time I'll cook the egg separately and stir in at the end as I feel that it made the dish to sticky and we like a fluffier rice dish.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Wonderful flavor and simple to make! I followed a couple of different suggestions from other reviewers and used a semi-dry white wine instead of milk and chicken Stovetop mixed with melted butter. We, as well as our dinner guests loved it! I'll definately be making this more regularly.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Fuji apples provided and excellent flavor and texture for this dish! This is an easy recipe to 1/2 successfully if you're just baking for a few people. I cut it in 1/2 and baked in 8 inch square baking dish. I didn't follow the recommended amount of apples in halfing. Instead I heaped the pan and it worked out great! I served it warm with vanilla bean ice cream and everyone loved it!

Crab Dip

We like this dip when it was hot, but even better when it was cold. Also, I added a can of small salad shrimp to make it a bit thicker.

Harvest Pork Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I followed this recipe as written, including the potatoes and carrots, and found it to be a wonderful addition to my recipe book. We loved the flavor that the apples added. The only thing that I will change for next time is that I will use unpeeled redskin potatoes (instead of peeled Idaho whites) and add some fresh ground pepper. I served with some fresh, hot dinner rolls. The broth was an excellent "dipper". Definately a keeper!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Very flavorful and easy to make stew. I would've given 5 stars but I felt that it needed to be thickened in the end and this wasn't mentioned in the original recipe. I'll definately make again.

Delicious!!! I followed the tip of adding in garlic cloves while boiling the potatoes. I made these for my daughters wedding reception and everyone raved about them. Will definately make these again!

Grandmas Chicken Chardon

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Wonderful recipe...I made this for a dinner party and everyone loved it! I marinated the chicken in Italian dressing, added a couple fresh cloves of garlic, and stuck with the original amount of mushrooms and butter/lemon juic mix. These amendments made for a very flavorful and moist chicken dish.

When I made this I also added diced plum tomatoes and some chopped cilantro. I only added a dash of olive oil. Delicious!
