About this Cook
Originally from New England, I am a college instructor for mathematics in Tucson, AZ.
My favorite things to cook
I make anything from chocolates (caramels, truffles, toffee, you name it!), to flans, fondant cakes, flans, sauces, and curries. Anything Italian, French, Thai, Southwestern, Irish, New England, :) I make 3d cakes from scratch (dragon shaped, castles, pirate ships, etc)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookie bake offs, holiday candy making, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Very large family.
My cooking triumphs
A city skyline 3 tiered, 3d cake with fondant that people actually loved. Big, elaborate meals for 30-60 people at a time.
My cooking tragedies
I made a 3D pirate ship cake with an island made of rum cake and treasure chests, etc. The pirate ship couldn't support the weight of the rum and it fell over!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
This is the MOST AMAZING recipe! I made it for a church function because they asked me to make the place smell like home-baking. It was amazing! It was so good, that the next week, I made double the recipe! Every last one of these cookies disappeared and people have been asking me for more! Everyone has called it the best chocolate chip cookie they have ever had and this is the 4th week in a row now I've been asked to bring these from several people and I keep running out! The serving size is big and it works well, but I also use just a table spoon drop and that works out well too! Thanks so much!
