Each of my grown kids ask me for recipes and/or how-to tips as well.
My husband enjoys the variations in our meals, as I try new things to avoid the same-o, same-o.
My grandchildren call me their "best" Nana. They love my cooking and baking and have become very helpful in my kitchen. Each one has been my "sous-chef" for preparing family meals.
I enjoy preparing brunch or lunch for our neighborhood coffee group and have fun coming up with new meals to serve.

Neighborhood coffefe group sounds interesting! Wish they would do something like that around here! My girls love going to Grandma's (Grandma has a lot more patience than Mommy)to help her prepare snacks and meals.

My 3 grand kids live about 40 miles south of us and love to come visit on weekends and any school holiday. The memories of teaching those little hands how to mix dough, flip a pancake, crack an egg, are precious. It has to be worth all the effort we put into letting them help us. The "return" is priceless! And, Tracee, preparing snacks and meals isn't all a young mom has to do and us gramma's know when you need a breather!

About Me
Cooking and baking over 50 years. I love impromtu get-togethers with family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Homemade bread, rolls, cakes, pies, desserts. Poached salmon, crab cakes, lasagna, spaghetti, casseroles, pot roast, turkey with all the trimmings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Preparing salad, spaghetti, garlic bread for easy family mealtime. Now my grandchildren help as my sou-chefs with all preparations, from setting the table to peeling, slicing, dicing veggies and fruit salad. Roasting turkey, pork or beef for holiday meals with all the trimmings.
My cooking triumphs
Desserts for special occasions.
My cooking tragedies
For our first Thanksgiving in our first home, I baked pumpkin pies that looked really good. I gave one to our neighbor who had been very helpful. As my husband took his first bite of our pie, he grimaced and asked: "What did you do to this pie?" We discovered that I omitted the sugar called for. I immediately ran next door and stated: "Don't eat that, it's terrible". Our neighbors laughed and understood the follies of a young bride. Once when making lasagna without cooking noodles first, the whole thing overcooked and my grandkids still echo: "Don't burn the Lasagna".
