My paternal grandmother was a great cook and always had enough of something to whip up a meal whenever people dropped by (and they often did). I have always admired that quality about her and have wanted to be as hospitable as she was.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook ANYTHING-at times, my family gets mad because I do not like to repeat recipes. I am always trying new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday, we would go to my maternal grandmother's home for a meal of fried chicken, corn, green beans, soup beans and cornbread, ham, jello, and rolls. Sharing this time with my cousins was a tradition I loved!
My cooking triumphs
I seem to have a way with New York style cheesecakes. My husband loves just plain, dense cheesecake and mine always seem to disappear when I take them some place.
My cooking tragedies
Chilean Sea Bass...the first meal I ever made for my husband when we first started dating....it looked exquisite! How was I to know that he hated fish?!? He went running to the bathroom and I believe we went to Pizza Hut! I am surprised he even stuck around long enough to finally marry me!
