I started to dry Summer Savory the other day using an upside down methed. I'm impatient and got mad because the leaves weren't crispy, like the Bay Leaves, but limp and gross. So, I decided to start drying the Genovese Basil leaves today along with the Summer Savory in the oven. I have about… MORE

So sad. So very, very, very sad. I woke up today to find Josceline's sunflowers broken. As I drank my coffee, I pondered on saving the poor plants. Normally I wouldn't resort using Rooting Hormone especially on plants we will be eating from. I allowed my daughter see it for the first time and a MORE

MY BAY LAUREL PLANT (BAY LEAVES) I finally got around to drying my Bay Leaves yesterday. I only had 2 store bought McCormick Bay Leaves remaining so I knew that I needed to do this sooner or later. Also, the fresh leaves were the right size and I didn't want them to get any bigger. Last ni MORE

During the 4th of July weekend, my MIL and I traded plants. She received a Moss Phlox (Emerald Blue),  Creeping Phlox (Purple), Dwarf Shasta Daisy, and a Bleeding Heart that I grew myself. :) I received a handful of Indian Blankets, Yarrow, Gay-Feathers, and a whole bunch of Foxglove. So… MORE

THIS IS BORING SO YOU MAY WANT TO SKIP THIS BLOG. I just wanted to jot down some future plants to grow for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010. I'm getting interested in making my own herbal tea blends. Never made my own so I want to see if I could. Also, I found a few other herbs that sounded so interes MORE

About Me
Hi. I'm Josephine. I am a 27 year old SAHM, Army Veteran, and Military Wife. In a nutshell, I was born in the Philippines, moved to the States when I was 6, grew up, joined the Army and served as a combat medic, have moved around a lot, met husband, married, and now reside in West Virginia where my husband is stationed. I have 2 children. Josceline (5 years old) and Lindsay (almost 2 years old). I've always worked in the medical field and was going to school for my nursing degree but that has taken the backseat until my younger daughter starts school.
My favorite things to cook
Almost anything but desserts. I believe desserts are evil and is the devil's way of making me fat!
My favorite family cooking traditions
With my kidlets, I like to cook with them. With my family growing up, we had no cooking traditions.
My cooking triumphs
Josceline's 5th Birthday Castle Cake. It was HUGE with homemade towers. Everyone was so amazed that nobody wanted to eat it.
My cooking tragedies
Tons and tons of it. The most memorable was the time I was sanitizing Josceline's baby bottles with boiling water. I fell asleep and woke up to a horrible smell.
