About this Cook
Most people don't get my humor, but really, I'm funny. Just take my word for it. I like magnet poetry kits, correcting others' spelling/grammar/punctuation, and being awesome. I hate bugs, itchy sweaters, and people who are annoyingly optimistic.
My favorite things to cook
boxed macaroni and cheese. I can make it from scratch with fontina, mozarella, and parmesan, but if I want mac n cheese, nothing beats Kraft.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas season, I'll make a batch or two (or five) of my special Chex Mix. Christmas just isn't Christmas without my husband whining for some :)
My cooking triumphs
Any recipe that I don't screw up. I'm a perfectionist, so if I make something, it had better be good. Most of the time it's aiite.
My cooking tragedies
I really suck at baking cookies! Every time I try, it's.... it's a real sad affair.

Coconut and Chocolate Rice Crispies
yummy! and simple. although I strayed from the directions and just used a one-bowl, microwave method: melt the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl, add the marshmallows, microwave for 20 or 30 seconds, stir, repeat until smooth. Instead of using a buttered spoon, just wet your fingers a little with water and get on in there with your hands. the krispies won't stick to your fingers, and it's a lot easier than using a spoon.

Fresh Tomato Pie
Holy... this was so good. I like tomatoes, but I was a little wary of trying this. I'm so glad I tried it. Reading others' reviews, though, I decided on the following changes: to the mayo mixture, I added an extra handful of mozzarella, about 1/4c chopped fresh basil (MUST be fresh... no comparison, really!), 5 or 6 slices of crumbled bacon. I sliced the onions and sauteed them in the bacon grease. When assembling the pie, I put the onions on the bottom, 1/2 the tomatoes, 1/2 the mayo mix, then repeated. I ended up using only 3 really large tomatoes.

5 Minute Banana Berry Smoothie
Really good. I was looking for a smoothie that didn't require either milk or yogurt. I subbed the orange juice for pineapple juice, which added a nice twist.
