Dulcia Domestica

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
Very good , everyone liked them. My only gripe is that they stuck to that pan and the plate ......... they needed to be pried off with a knife ! Maybe my ratio of honey was off so I will try again.

This is a great salad ! I ,too ,added fresh basil and extra garlic letting it marinate over night. I have a balsamic glze that I used rather than plain Balsamic. I will be making this often !

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
What a great and easy way to duplicate szechwan ! Next time I will add chopped peanuts and cilantro to garnish but I really like this. I added extra garlic and pepper because of preference. Thank you! *UPDATE- made this with tofu and it turned out great. Fry the tofu first then add to sauce at very end.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
This was an amazing flavor , a little too sweet for my husband's taste but I thought it was perfect. The only thing I added was a whole onion and I'm glad I did , it gave a great flavor if you like onion.I also did not use butter, only peanut oil. My chicken did not turn out as the picture did with the crust , mine was very saucy but perfect for dipping indian naan bread into. I plan on trying this with tofu next time.Thank you!

Fishboy's Beer Belly Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
The flavor was good, the shrimp were a little rubbery which may have been my error , maybe too much beer. I might try this again with some modifications.

Roasted Spicy Mustard Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
I think it needs modifications...other than what I did. I mixed mustard and added olive oil in a bowl with toher ingredients and sliced potatos in half then made slits in them letting them marinade for an hour and roasting at 400. Came out good but perhaps more salt next time , I will try again, it's a great idea. (I had to come back and give this another star , my dad LOVED them the next day !)

Shrimp, Leek and Spinach Risotto

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I use chicken broth in this recipe and all other risotto recipes because of flavor. I only did shrimp , no spinach and lots of garlic , it's always good ! I like to add shallots fresh parsley and basil at the end. I add the raw shrimp at the very end once the heat is turned off so the shrimp don't overcook .

Barbie's Tuna Salad

I really wasn't happy about the taste. Ended up adding shallots which made it better but all in all it wasn't a flavor I cared for. I will continue on my quest for tuna salad.

Beer-Boiled Shrimp

This is SO good ! We seriously scaled back on the butter though . Did not let them sit the full 1/2 hour either as we were afraid they would be rubbery. Turned out great .

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Great recipe , the only one I make because it is truly from scratch , no canned soups ! I add olives and cream cheese on occasion and lots of onion ,garlic and crumb topping. I don't use butter(olive oil instead) , peas or mushrooms (carrots instead). Always great ,I have doubled the tuna for more protein.

Muenster Chicken and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
Really good !I (as others did) dipped the chicken in egg not milk. After I did the chicken in the pan I did the fresh 'shrooms in same pan and added onion then deglazed with white wine adding only a bit of broth . Did NOT cook as long as it said as I think it would have dried out chicken. Followed the rest as instructed serving with rice and a salad . Great hearty meal !

Gouda Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
Wow! This quiche was great! I omitted the butter and bacon and used mushrooms as others suggested . Used shallots instead of onion, added garlic and doubled the gouda which really made the flavor come out. What an amazing quiche though...the best I have made yet. Thank you.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Very good , I changed a lot but really liked the outcome. I marinated the chicken for a day in spices before I cooked it. I nixed the enchilada sauce and mixed sour cream with salsa to make my sauce. Used flour tortillas instead of corn and extra chiles. Also used pinto beans, rice , green onion and cotija cheese which I think made it. It turned into several layers but was a big hit.
