Eggs Benedict

3 Tbl is a lot of lemon. Next time I think I will take the suggestion to only use 1. Also this makes A LOT of sauce, I will half it next time as well. I used the blender/microwave method suggested and that worked great. Serving suggestion: Put a dash of dill on top. It's fabulous!

Gingerbread Boy Cookies

These tasted like they were missing something so I added two dashes of nutmeg and one of allspice and that really helped a lot. Also letting them chill much longer helped. I made the dough in the morning and came back in the evening on my second batch and it was a lot less sticky than the first one.

I took the suggestion to add the 1/4 tsp lemon juice but you will still need to use 3 cups of powdered sugar or the icing will be very runny.

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies in a Jar

I REALLY needed to make this recipe work for cut out sugar cookies. It was extremely puffy and also VERY sticky. To fix that problem I made a second batch with no additional baking powder or baking soda and only 1 egg and added it to the first batch. That worked wonders! You will still need to use lots of flour when rolling them but you will be able to get them cut out and onto the cookie sheet and they should still look like what you want them too. If making the same amount again I would just half the baking powder, soda and only use 1 egg.

Ground Beef Quiche

So this sounded like a great idea, but admitedly we made some changes, I believe for the better. Instead of ground beef I used 2 1/4 pound Hebrew National polish sausages I had leftover and substituted 1/2 teaspoon of basil for the oregano. Delicious!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

My husband said "this is the best pumpkin bread I have ever had!". I made only 1 loaf to use up some extra (about 2/3 of a 15oz can) canned pumpkin. I also chopped up some pecans and put them on top. I didn't fuss with the ingredients other than that, just followed the recipe.

Awesome! We loved these. We also used the sweet & sour II sauce but really I think they stand alone as a great meatball dish. (we made them into balls rather than patties.)

We made it as the recipe stated this time but next time will use pineapple juice in place of the water to make it a little more tangy and will substitute apple cider vinegar for the white vinegar. Hopefully then it will be a 5. It was just a tad "tomatoey" as is.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

This was definitely restaurant quality. The only changes I made were that I cooked it with about 1/2 cup of minced onion for extra flavor. I cooked it about 5 1/2 hours in the root beer, drained it, salted it, and then put in 18oz of BBQ sauce and let it simmer an additional 30 min. It was still moist but cooked through this way.

The Best Lemon Bars

The best! And this crust is such a great crust. I've used it for cheesecakes and tarts and everyone raves about them. Sometimes I add some crushed up graham crackers to it.

Singaporean Tender Pork Spare Ribs

We made twice the ribs in the same amount of sauce and only used 3 cinnamon sticks. we thought these came out wonderfully. We had them with the Mediteranean Couscous and it was a great combination. My three year old daughter even loved them.
