Grandma Ople's Apple Pie
Like others, I had never attempted to make an apple pie before this. Now it will be my signature dessert! The grannysmith apples (tossed with a pinch of cinnamon) were perfect- crisp and not too sweet. The best though, was the drizzled lattice crust! Definitely use all eight apples, even though they look like they won't fit. The pie does settle while cooking, and when it's done, it's just the right size and packed with apples, as it should be.
