Baja Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I used low fat yogurt, so I didn't need the milk. It was a tasty Father's Day salad. Next time, I'll add some herbs for more flavor

We enjoyed the spices, even though the kids said they couldn't taste the tofu! We will be making these again!

Cool and refreshing! Even though I don't normally use salt, this drink needs it, so I used it. It's good both plain or iced! Thanks for the recipe!

Cauliflower Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
Great tasting "fake potato" salad! We eliminated the s+p, thinking that is personal preference, and omitted the onions because we had none. Cauliflower is one of our favorite vegetables, so this definitely came out as a winner! Thanks for the recipe!

Fruit Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
I think the 2 T should read "vital wheat gluten", the part that creates bread that rises higher(that's what I used). I used molasses instead of the brown sugar, and replaced 1 cup of flour with whole wheat flour. Nice looking and great tasting bread!

Welsh Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
I made a few changes for the preferences of my family; I used yogurt instead of the milk and vinegar, honey instead of molasses, and 1/2 of the flour was whole wheat. I found that I still needed about an extra 1/2 cup flour. Caraway seeds give the bread a great flavor!

These are great! The addition of the wheat germ to the original recipe I had used years ago is wonderful! The kids had fun making and eating these!

I like the taste of the wheat germ and oatmeal in this drink! I left the skin on the peaches because I wanted more fiber, but will peel them next time!

I cut the amount of oil in half, used honey instead of the sugar, and subbed red onion for the green onion. This is a tasty salad!

My kids, who fight my efforts to get them to eat Brussels Sprouts, enjoyed the taste of this! I used whole wheat flour and honey in place of the all purpose flour and the brown sugar. Great taste. Easy to make!

Right after making this, my son wanted to add honey. After sitting overnight, the flavors melded so that a sweetener was not needed. Colorful and palette pleasing! We will be making this again!

Curried Cumin Potatoes

Great taste! My daughter made this, using the salt called for, and we found that when going from basically a no salt diet to this, it was way too much! The flavor of the spices was lively, so the salt really was not needed. We will be making this again!

Split Pea Soup with Tofu

Wonderful taste! I think that next time, I will just add the onion to the soup base instead of frying it. It may only be a few calories cut, but the good, rich flavor will still be there! I left out the salt, thinking that is a personal preference. The color of this soup is truly a green delight!
