I made this with 1 onion and 1 turnip. It is more like a salad than a cracker spread. That's fine because that is what I was expecting. Great taste!

Sweet Potato Soup

I tried this recipe because I needed to use up a turnip and some 1/2 & 1/2. What a delicious treat, even though I used water instead of chicken broth. The nutmeg makes the soup! This is a soup-er recipe!

Poppy Seed Yeast Bread

Wonderful combination of bread and spread! Our spread was more like thick sauce, but whatever the name, it was delicious! I omitted the dry milk and the almonds, and the bread is really tasty! Thanks for the marvelous recipe!

Fabulous Cilantro Pesto

I love the idea of pesto made with something other than basil. This required more oil than called for to blend all the ingredients. Maybe I will enjoy this as a cold salad, but I was disappointed with the taste and texture when the cilantro pesto mixed with the warm pasta.

Old Time Bread

Crisp, crunchy and dense like biscotti but with less flavor! I like the seeds in the bread and on top along with the whole wheat and corn meal. Next time, I think I will add 2 T honey, and see if we like it better, although I like the idea of not even having a sweetener in the bread!

I doubled most of the recipe, leaving the cumin, curry and tomato sauce the same. I'm glad I did, because the spices are quite strong! This has good flavor, texture and color appeal!

I used molasses in place of the sugar, and added extra caraway as others have suggested. This is a great bread. Making 1/3 the recipe yielded a huge free formed loaf!

Sunshine Hummus Melts

I used the rye bread that I just baked as the base for this. I had Pumpkin Hummus from AR, and layered on the apples and cheddar. The tastes of garlic from the hummus and the apple were strange together, but overall, this was great! I'll be trying this with other flavors of breads, hummuses, apples and cheeses--what a great idea!
