Wheat Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Great crackers. These can be rolled out, cut, frozen, then baked. I flavored them with herbs, and the taste is wonderful. I made them unique in that I didn't remember to prick with a fork before baking, so I have hollow puffs! Great recipe!

Delicious! I have them soaking in more hazelnut liqueur now, letting them ripen for Christmas day! Oh! Did I say these are good? I'll be making these again!

Garbanzo Bean Gravy

The gravy was easy to make and had a great consistency. If only there was some taste other than such strong soy sauce, this would be great!

Baked Falafel

Easy to make, very flavorful! I didn't bake these, I just continued cooking in the frying pan. I used whole wheat flour instead of the all purpose flour.

Uncle Wynn's Bread Machine Rye

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
Great heavy, dense loaf of bread! I love the flavor! I didn't need all of the bread flour called for, that would have been too much! I'll be making this again!

Everything Challah

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I put in some whole wheat flour in place of some of the bread flour, and used 1/2 cup honey in place of the sugar. Realistically, this makes 3 or 4 loaves, not just 2! Great taste! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of the salt in the topping! I braided both loaves differently, for variety's sake! I'll be making this again!

Easy to make. Surprisingly good, even though it's without a crust! I liked this better cold than I did when it was hot! Great recipe

Iced-Spiced Ginger Bars

Because I used whole wheat flour, I added an extra 1/2 cup flour to make the batter a little thicker. I cut the frosting in half. These are great!

Sweet Potato and Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Delicious! I didn't peel the potatoes, and didn't have a few of the ingredients, but I made it anyway! I had never made mashed potatoes with egg and sour cream; we liked how light and fluffy these were! We will be making this again!

Salmon Quiche

I used soy milk instead of the evaporated milk, and added a pinch of dill weed, then put the filling in a whole wheat pie crust. Delicious! We will be making this again!

Cheddar Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I did some tweaking, but these sure are tasty! I used agave syrup instead of sugar, used only 1/2 tsp. salt, only 2 pkg. yeast (4 1/2 tsp), and changed the flour to be 1 cup rye, 2 cups whole wheat, and 1 cup all purpose. I did not use the egg wash. If I can rate these as excellent, with the changes, then I will! Thanks for the recipe!

Holiday Mincemeat Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
I used whole wheat flour instead of white. It wasn't until they were baking, that I realized I had forgotten the oil! It made no difference, they taste great! They are a moist, flavorful muffin. I put the frosting on some, left it off on others; I prefer these without the frosting! Thanks for the recipe!

I used whole wheat flour instead of the bread flour, and ground black pepper and cloves instead of the mace and cardamom. This is a great bread! It will be one of my holiday breads this year!

Rye Biscuits

I used whole wheat flour to make these. They are too sweet for my taste of biscuits, so I might cut the sweetener down to 1 tsp. next time. These are good and hearty!

Kahlua Cream Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I didn't put salt or walnuts in these. I changed the frosting to cream cheese instead of butter, and also cut the recipe for the frosting in half. I still had too much frosting, so I took the leftover frosting and added more powdered sugar, and made Kahlua mints! The submitter must make tiny cookies, because I ended up with 2 1/2 dozen delicious cookies, not 54 like she does! Well, maybe if I had added the walnuts, I would have had more cookies! This is a great recipe!
