Very good for the ingredients involved! These were fairly easy to make. I'll be making more of these!

Ron's Fruit Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I used whole wheat flour instead of the bread flour, and ground black pepper and cloves instead of the mace and cardamom. This is a great bread! It will be one of my holiday breads this year!

Delicious! The flavors combine nicely! This green bread will be great for Christmas, and the flavors will make a lovely tea bread! Great recipe!

Rye Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I used whole wheat flour to make these. They are too sweet for my taste of biscuits, so I might cut the sweetener down to 1 tsp. next time. These are good and hearty!

Kahlua Cream Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I didn't put salt or walnuts in these. I changed the frosting to cream cheese instead of butter, and also cut the recipe for the frosting in half. I still had too much frosting, so I took the leftover frosting and added more powdered sugar, and made Kahlua mints! The submitter must make tiny cookies, because I ended up with 2 1/2 dozen delicious cookies, not 54 like she does! Well, maybe if I had added the walnuts, I would have had more cookies! This is a great recipe!

Pumpkin Tacos

I cooked butternut squash instead of pumpkin, with the onion. This recipe made a great tasting filling inside of homemade whole wheat tortilla shells!

Pumpkin Pecan Bites

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I used only 1/3 cup oil, and no soda or pecans for the cupcakes. I used only 1/4 cup butter in the frosting. The cinnamon would have made these look cute! Fantastic flavor!

I mixed the sauteed onions, salmon, potatoes and mayo together, then served on lettuce with the sliced eggs. Great flavor! Thanks for the recipe!

Yogurt Almond Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
The taste is terrific! I froze the mixture in a bowl, and stirred it up occasionally. That might be why I ended up with a consistency more like sorbet than creamy smooth ice cream. We will be making this again!

Buckwheat and Summer Squash Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
Buckwheat is such as strong flavor that this could have used more seasoning! I felt that the amount of buckwheat compared to the squash and beans was overwhelming. Next time, I'll cut the amount of buckwheat in half! Maybe the toasted buckwheat would make this better, too!

Peruvian Chicha Morada Drink

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
A truly purple drink! This is like wassail, very spicy! The amount of brown sugar does not overwhelm you, so this is a comfortable sweetness! I should have put the cinnamon and cloves into a cheesecloth ball so that I could take it out and continue cooking the corn (in a new, separate recipe!) for several more hours, until it puffed out like popcorn. At that point, the cooked corn can be eaten plain or in stews. Thanks for the recipe!

Turkish Halwa

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Nothing about this recipe was as I expected. When the flour is added to the butter, it formed crumbs! When adding the molasses, I had a soupy, lumpy mass. My wire whisk beat the dough somewhat smoother. After dropping the scoops onto the paper, they never hardened. This was like eating spoon fudge! On the plus side, I can say that this was sweet!

Fennel Cucumber Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This is really good! I made it once without the fennel because it was unavailable, then again when I found it in a grocery store. Great both times! The flavors combine well, and it looks nice. I have been eating this as a salad, not salsa!
