About this Cook
I started cooking when I moved in with my boyfriend and found I enjoy cooking - it completely takes my mind off everything and I can be creative! I try to make something new at least once a week. I love Sandra Lee, Paula Deen, Iron Chef America, and Ellie Krieger.
My favorite things to cook
I mostly like to bake - from lasagna to blueberry cobbler. My boyfriend is a meat & potatoes type of guy so I cook a lot of that too. I also like to cook with the slow cooker and do chili and stews. My favorite things to eat are actually just the simple comfort foods like grilled cheese and mc & cheese, blts, etc. so I try to put a little spin on them somehow.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'd like to start them!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing that stands out - but I'll keep you posted!

Curried Carrot Soup
So good! I was skeptical, but this came out great. I did make some changes (1) added celery salt (2) added pinch of cayenne pepper (3) added applesauce (4) topped with dollop of chobani honey greek yogurt

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp
so easy to make! that's what I loved about it. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla, instant oatmeal, and left out the walnuts (only because I didn't have any). I didn't bother to peel either - I just used my apple slicer and threw them in the slow cooker. Because I have so many cortland apples from apple picking this weekend - that is what i used.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares
My mom makes this when I visit with a friend and we love it. Did not use carrots, used diced yellow onion instead of green and skipped the ranch dressing. Also, using the reduced-fat croissants are just as tasty!
