About this Cook
I am currently studying to become a nurse and can't wait to finish school. In my spare time I enjoy to cook and bake (my fave!). My other interests include: hiking, backpacking, swimming, and basically anything that gets me outside.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cakes, and anything chocolate (Notice a pattern?). I also like to cook breakfast on the weekends. However, I am trying to branch out and try new things, that is why I like this website.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas and Thanksgiving are always great food days in our house. My Mom makes her awesome sticky buns, and we have the traditional ham and turkey. Accept for holidays, Dad does most of the cooking, and I haven't found a better biscuits and gravy maker.
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean spaghetti and good banana pancakes. My recent accomplishments include New York cheesecake and chili (I know it's easy, but it was good).
My cooking tragedies
Do we have to mention all of the tragedies? Usually on the path to triumph I stumble a few times. My family gets great humor out of my cooking, because no matter how much I have prepared something usually goes wrong.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread
Very good recipe! It's nice to add a little variety to regular, old zucchini bread.

Zucchini Cobbler
This was great! I was a little skeptical when trying the first bite, but it really does taste like apples. I followed the recipe exactly, except for the amount of butter. I was two tablespoons short, but it did not effect the outcome. Also, I did not have time to put this together and bake it on the same day. I refrigerated the zucchini mixture until I was ready, and it still turned out quite well. Finally, I used a very large zucchini from the garden (I didn't want it to go to waste), I removed the seeds and spongy portion...it worked just fine.

Toll House Pie I
I had high hopes for this, and made a two pies for a bake sale. Unfortunately, 1 hr. of baking time was much too much for me (I even took them out 20 mins. early!) and the crusts ended up burnt. The filling tasted good, but I don't know how well they will sell.
