About this Cook
I have been married six years now to the most wonderful man in the world. I am 53, and have enjoyed cooking, to some extent since I was in my early thirties, but for about the last 8 to 10 years have taken it more seriously.I am forever trying new recipes, also. My husband and I both love music. I play the piano and my husband is a singer/songwriter.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are my specialty. It seems I do better with desserts than other dishes, or it could be that desserts are just more fun to make and eat!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions would have to be Thanksgiving dinner. I look foward to it every year. Homemade cranberry sauce with the turkey, dressing, and giblet gravy, can't be beat. Plus a few other sides!
My cooking triumphs
Making a stack cake without any cracks.
My cooking tragedies
I substituted vinegar once for red wine vinegar in a beef bourguignon dish and it was way too much vinegar. It was a lip puckering dish for sure.

Squash and Zucchini Casserole
This is a very delicious dish. I have made it twice. The first time I made it, I followed the instructions and layered the squash, zuchinni, onion, and tomatoes. Then I read the "pats of butter between each layer" part. Too late to do that. So the second time I made this I kept that in mind. I also did not slice the zuchinni lenthwise the second time, and it was much easier to eat with them sliced as regular slices.
