About this Cook
I love cooking, but more than that, I love to entertain and feed people! I am a clothing and jewelry designer and stylist, but one day I would also love to open up my own restaurant/cafe.
My favorite things to cook
anything but seafood! (blech)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Hungarian so pretty much anything with paprika! But I also LOVE mexican food, and other types of ethnic food. Ethiopian food is another favorite of mine.
My cooking triumphs
I have a very strong sense of smell and taste, so I believe that helps me immensely in my cooking.
My cooking tragedies
hmmm... I'll have to get back to this one!

Plum Blueberry Upside Down Cake
INCREDIBLE! I doubled the brown sugar & butter mixture, also added pluots to the outer edge, then plums, then a bit of fresh blueberries in the center (only one layer so they wouldn't get too gooey). In the CAKE MIX, I doubled the vanilla extract, added zest of one orange (made it amazing! would add lemon zest too next time), 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, one teaspoon of ground nutmeg, and added 2 handfuls fresh blueberries to the cake mixture as well. absolutely amazing! next time I will put in less (maybe half) of the white sugar. going to make again for a potluck brunch! I posted a photo!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
AMAZING! MUST ADD 3/4 or 1 teaspoon SALT! It is KEY in all cookies! Salt brings out the flavor. You HAVE to put it in! The only other thing I changed was to add a tiny pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg. And If you do 2 cups choc chips and 2 cups WHITE choc chips... AMAZING! My friends were obsessed. DON'T FORGET TO ADD THE SALT!

Homesteader Cornbread
It was pretty good... I added a tablespoon of Vanilla extract. I wish it had a bit more flavor. Maybe I will add honey to the mixture, and a bit of brown sugar. other than that, it was good, but not great.
