I'm a stay at home mom of a 3 year old son. I love reading cookbooks and recipe magazines as I continually search for new recipes to try. My son loves to get in the kitchen and "help" me cook. Hopefully he will grow up to be a much better cook than I was when I started out. I grew up eating a lot of take out and boxed/convenience meals, so now I'm learning to cook with fresher, healthier ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake...especially muffins and quick breads. I am also really into cooking health conscious, low fat meals.
My cooking triumphs
I was really proud to have turned out an excellent pan of cinnamon rolls, even if I cheated a little and used a bread machine to make the dough. But my real triumph is being able to cook a meal that both my son and boyfriend can eat without picking anything out or complaining about the onions.
My cooking tragedies
My nemesis in the kitchen is yeast breads. I've made a real sad bunch of bagels and pretzels. I also have an ongoing problem with flat(and I mean paper thin) cookies, even though I'm aware of proper cooking techinques (using butter instead of margarine, proper oven temp, refrigerating dough/cookie sheets, etc)
