I am 26 years old and live in TX. My mother is a chef who has taught me what I know about cooking. We love entering in cook off competitions and entertaining for a crowd. I would have to say that I enjoy cooking anything on a charlco pit from briskets to veggies. I am always up to the challenge. My family owned and operated a cajun restaurant for many years with my mom running the kitchen so, I would have to say that gumbo's and etouffee's are next on my list. My favorite cooking traditions would have to be weekend B.B.Q'S. Food, Family, and Friends you cant go wrong. There is nothing better that having a few drinks and cooking with the people you like to be around. HUMMMM - lets see.. 1st place 2007 South Texas gumbo cook off. (Me and my Sis) 2004 we took 2nd in brisket, 2nd in ribs & 3rd in beans @ Live stock show. 2005 we came back and defended our title for 2nd in ribs. These were the compititions that mattered the most to our Family! My biggest cooking tragedy would be the fact that I cant do pastries, and when I say that I mean not even the pre made cookie dough. So now you know...hehe!
