Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
These are really really really good. I made them exactly as the recipe is written, but used a pack of small mushrooms. I had enough to make 20 small mushrooms, and still had some leftover filling. I can't eat wheat - so this was a good gluten-free mushroom option. I didn't give it a 5 because I felt like it needed just a little texture... I'll probably try adding chopped artichokes next time.

Mini OREO Surprise Cupcakes

Oh my land, super yummy! I made with regular sized Double Stuf oreos that I cut into quarters to put into the cupcakes. Topped each cupcake with vanilla frosting and half an oreo. YUM

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Super easy! I have never made a fondant before and this was so easy and came out divine! I did not use a mixer or have to wait until marshmallows cooled. I put the marshmallows in microwave for about 45 seconds, then stirred them until smooth. I added in the water, vanilla, and some food coloring. I mixed it all together with a spatula, and it was so workable! Then I gradually added the sugar until it wasn't sticky! So easy! I am making cupcakes that look like cheeseburgers - this was a simple (tasty) solution to making cheese slices!

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Easy and yum, what's not to love? Made them as the recipe is listed, used the confetti cake so mine came out with with spots. Yum enough for a quick cookie. Oh, the time is also oddly vague (hello, 4-10 minutes, why not just say bake 'em 'til they're done... I made BIG cookies [dropped by the tablespoon] and I needed to bake about 11 minutes... try for about 8-10 minutes on this one!)

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
This is a really easy recipe to put together and seems yummy enough. I made some today for some pup friends of mine who recently moved into a new house with their human parents... I plan to take these to the housewarming party as part of the gift. I didn't try one - but the dough smelled good, they smelled good as they cooked, and they smell good now! Hopefully my pup friends will enjoy them!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
Oh, these pancakes are good! I made them as written, the only change being that I added a splash of vanilla. Although, these pancakes have SUCH a good flavor that no vanilla is needed. I have to admit, they smelled so good that I ate the first one off the pan because I couldn't wait. So good! Yum! Will keep this as my quick and easy recipe - I have no clue why people use pancake mixes when simple pancake recipes are so much better and just as easy!

Quick Biscuits

Easy and YUM!!!!!!!!!!!! These biscuits are awesome. I did make a substitution, only for health... I don't use heavy cream, so I used nonfat plain yogurt. These biscuits are just so easy and delicious that I can't get over it. Oh, I didn't knead/roll, I just dropped them and they came up marvelous.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
Uh, no, not a good recipe. If you read through, most people who have had succhess with the recipe, it is because they changed it. I made as it. It had the consistency of cake batter. I added flour until I could make it into a pizza crust. Baked it for 20mins, put on toppings, and baked for 10 more. It was like eating baked play-doh with pizza toppings. Served its purpose, but would have rather pulled out a can of the refrigerator biscuits and added a bit of flour to knead into a crust.

Juicy Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
There is only one thing I can say about this recipe - it is BANGIN' GOOD. I might be slightly biased, since I love pork chops and I love garlic, but I want to make these all the time. I made the recipe exactly as written. I just found the recipe at lunch time, so I didn't marinate for 12 whole hours, but I did marinate for a good 6. The only ways that I deviated from the recipe was I didn't broil (don't got one)so I used my frying pan and a little cooking spray, cooked on each side for about 10 mins. The other way was that before I put it in the frying, I sprinkled garlic powder on each side of the chop - I love garlic! This recipe was THE YUM and I will be making it reguarly, as is, without changes!

Monkey Bread I

Ultra yum! This recipe was soooo easy and absolutely delicious. I didn't have a bundt or a tube pan, so I used a Pyrex dish that I have and it came out great.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Oh. MY. GOSH! This recipe is so good that I'm not even done eating it yet, and I had to come review. This is good. There is nothing else to say. This recipe is delicious. I made the recipe as is, I just changed the order. I put the garlic powder and the butter in the sauce pan to melt down. I also added in some oregano and parsley. I added in the parmesan next, letting it melt into the butter to make a nice cream. Then added the cream cheese to melt into the above. I did all this over low heat. When I started to whisk in the milk, I increased the heat to the medium. To the people who couldn't get it to thicken - it probably needed more heat. It came out delicious. I ate it over angel hair pasta with some precooked turkey meatballs. So yum that I can't even fully convey. I so want to eat more, but my waistline won't appreciate it later.

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
I gave this one a 4, because I knew off the bat that (like others) I would have to reduce the baking powder and the salt. I used 2 tsp baking powder and 2 pinches of salt. This is actually a really good basic recipe otherwise. For the people who found the batter runny and added more flour, eh. That probably turned them in a near-brick doughy pancake. The baking powder is actually what makes pancakes light and fluffy, and mine turned out just fine. If you are having problems with pancakes being tough and thin, try stirring them more gently and not as long. The only other changes that I made were to use whole wheat flour and honey instead of sugar for my own nutritional desires.

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
Phenomenal!!!!!! I am in charge of making the dessert-type food for my SIL-to-be's bridal shower next week. I picked this b/c it seemed easy and big enough. I halved the recipe, used 2 eggs like another reviewer, and threw in a bag of butterscotch chips. I'm making like 5 different kinds of cookies, so no standing there to drop cookies for me; I put it in two 13x9 pans, and baked in a 325' oven for about 25 minutes! Sooooo good. I'm hoping they make it until the shower next weekend!

Many, many, many, many, MANY thumbs up for this one! I made it for clients at work... I typically need recipes that double/quadruple easily. I made this recipe for 40 people quickly and efficiently and got tons of compliments. I made it as listed, I just used bags of lettuce from the store instead of heads of lettuce. Very yummy!

I give this one a HUGE thumbs up. I'm a social worker, and I help the clients where I work make lunch once per week for all the clients in our partial hospital program. I look for recipes that are straight forward, easy to understand, and easy to make many portions of (we cook for about 40 people total). This one TOTALLY fits the bill! It's easy to make, everyone here loves it, and it fits into my tight non-profit budget! I haven't tried making it at home yet - but I can't wait!

Amy's Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Yummy! This recipe has become a staple in my house, as I love ground turkey because it's healthy and cheap. The first time, I made the recipe exactly as said, but the amount of red pepper flakes made my eyes want to pop out of my head so I did decrease it after that (I'm not really into spicy foods). I also live in an apartment, so I don't grill... I've either done them in the oven or on the stovetop in my grill pan, and delicious every time!

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Really yummy, and hard to mess up! I've made these twice... the first time, I made 4lbs of chicken wings and doubled the recipe for my friend's surprise birthday party, and they were a hit. There were none left at the end of the night. The second tme, I made them at home for dinner with boneless chicken tenders... also yummy! They were great for dinner, and leftovers tasted pretty yummy too.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
Holy PHENOMENAL pancakes, Batman! I cannot say enough great things about this recipe. The pancakes come out REALLY light and fluffy... and have a GREAT flavor! The other reviewer who said that they don't need much syrup, it's true! I was eating most from the griddle, plain. I made the recipe as specified, but added a splash of vanilla. [I also like to try to eat healthy, so I substituted whole wheat flour, which I couldn't even taste because the flavor of this pancake is so awesome, and nonfat plain yogurt for the buttermilk.] I cannot recommend this recipe enough! They do come out soooooo light and fluffy and taste like they're straight from the griddle of your fave breakfast restaurant. [Also, note to those who found their pancakes to be tough and chewy: That's usually a sign that the pancake batter was mixed too long or strongly... try gently mixing in the dry ingredients into the wet slowly and gently until moistened, and see if that makes a difference!]
