About this Cook
I live in a little town now. Big change from the second largest city in the state! I am home with my gorgeous and wonderful little Devlin during the day and I serve at the Olive Garden at night. I also have two terrific older boys from a previous marriage that I wish were with me always instead of just weekends. I've always loved to cook and bake, it is my way of relaxing and cheering myself up when I am sad.
My favorite things to cook
Anything chocolate for me, and all of my guys' favorite things to eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cooking/baking with my boys and loving that time with them. I will be able to start with Devlin soon!
My cooking triumphs
Most of my attempts turn out pretty well, I get lots of requests.
My cooking tragedies
There have been plenty of things that I have messed up. :)

David's Yellow Cake
As previous reviewer stated, the cake kind of caved in the middle on me too. It looked fine in the oven but as soon as I took it out to cool, it caved. I thought that I had taken it out to early or something, but it tested done. regardless, it was the BEST yellow cake recipe I have ever used. It was very moist and delicious. The recipe I used it in required it to be refrigerated(with raspberry mousse filling and raspberry buttercream) so I did not get to experience it as soft and moist as it could be so I can not wait to make it again with another recipe!

White Chocolate Fudge
This is pretty good. I tried toasting the pecans per a previous review, and I added some coconut and cherries.

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies
I made this because I wanted to eat the dough, and it was just right. Tomorrow I will bake them. :) Ok, it is tomorrow and some have been baked. They are fabulous!! I baked them at 350 for about 12 min. They were perfect, the edges a little crispy and the inside nice and soft... MMM I am bringing some to my guy at work right now!!
