About this Cook
I love to bake and am always searching for that great recipe. I also enjoy gardening and during the growing season you’ll find me in my garden with my Cape Cod weeder and a glass of wine. --- Couldn't have said it better myself: "I have never believed we had to choose between either a clean and safe environment or a growing economy. Protecting the health and safety of all Americans doesn’t have to come at the expense of our economy’s bottom line. And creating thriving companies and new jobs doesn’t have to come at the expense of the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, or the natural landscape in which we live. We can, and indeed must, have both." ~ Bill Clinton
My favorite things to cook
What is better than fresh baked bread or coffee rolls straight from the oven?
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family and friends would have a conniption if I didn't make the creme brulee french toast listed on this website for Christmas brunch.
My cooking triumphs
I attended a fabulous week long Tuscan cooking class in Siena, Italy. The food was incredible, the people warm and wonderful, and the city is magical. Although we arrived in Italy after the race, we were fortunate to witness some of pageantry of the Palio di Siena which was extraordinary. It was tough to leave, and I lugged a heavy clay cooking pot through the airports coming home. When we got home, my husband delighted me by reproducing a pastry board we used in Tuscany which is one of my greatest toys. I enjoyed Tuscany so much; I named my cat Siena.
My cooking tragedies
The list is endless.

Sour Cream Cheesecake
A simple, easy to prepare recipe that makes a creamy and delicious cheesecake. I always line the sides and bottom of the spring-form pan with parchment paper for both a nice clean edge and also for ease in moving the cake from the pan onto a cake dish. This is a great starter cheesecake recipe for the new cook. Serve with fresh fruit for a fabulous dessert.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce
This is a good sauce that is super easy to make. I cut down the heat because my husband doesn’t like anything spicy. AlsoI will cut the honey by half because it was a little too sweet for us. But even still, without the adjustment in this first time preparation, we thought it was very good.
