About this Cook
I've always had a thing for food, Since my mom doesn't cook i didn't get to learn to cook at home, so when i go to my aunts house i would watch her cook and pick up things. i started cooking at home when i was about 16, but only learned to cook anything good long after, i experiment and try my own recipes, Why i cook is because when ever i have a problem cooking or baking just seems to melt it away
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, Cakes, pastries and Pies, other than that i'm pretty ok at vegitable dishes, since they are very common in my country. But my favourite thing to make is Mac and Cheese, there isn't a mac and cheese recipe i havent tried i guess.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't have any cooking traditions, but my grandma always fry roasts and grind the spices before she uses them, now i do it too.
My cooking triumphs
I once made a simple fish and potato pie which everyone at home just loved, and i have my own recipe for shrimp which my friends always ask for but i never want to give away. Its my own secret recipe
My cooking tragedies
I'm really bad at making chocolate mousse, when ever i make it, it never seems to set. the first time i made it i was so proud of myself and called some friends over, i figured by the time we all have lunch the mousse would be set, my friends stayed for dinner still the mousse was just runny. My friends still ate it saying its a semi chocolate drink. I've since then tried time and again to make mousse but still no success

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)
I just served this and i think it came out pretty well, only change i made was i cut the egg plant in to length wise bits before baking it, cos i wanted egg plant which would mix well with the curry. Will make again,

Szechwan Shrimp
awesome, though i made a few changes, Instead of putting honey and water i added pineapple juice to the recipe (just about 4 Tbsp was enough, and 2 tomatos chopped up. This came out delicious. Everybody asked for more. also i didn't cook the shrimp before hand. i think that way the taste of the shrimp won't vanish. just toss it for a little bit longer before adding the sauce and then the prawns will be done with the taste still remaining. This one is a keeper

Sweet Dinner Rolls
these came out perfect, so nice to look and smelled divine. I cut them up and put home made pineapple jam in there and served them for tea. Everybody loved them. I followed the recipe to the dot. didn't change a thing.
