About this Cook
I'm married, have a rambunctious toddler, expecting another one before the year's end, and am juggling university classes as well. Most anything that has to do with baking is therapeutic for me. I admire those that cook completely from scratch and will not give up until I have attained that knowledge for myself as well.
My favorite things to cook
I'm willing to take a try at anything that goes into an oven. My stovetop skills still need some tuning. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Still have yet to create some good ones for my own family. Though I miss the homemade pizza nights, corn soup, venison stew and fry bread that I grew up with.
My cooking triumphs
Making my first banana cream pie from scratch, which my mother-in-law told me put hers to shame.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at biscuits from scratch. They were flat frisbees, not even fit for the birds.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
Excellent! Grew up with hand-mixed snickerdoodles. Wowed the nieces & nephews who'd only experienced store-bought. :)

Clark Gable Pancakes
I thought these pancakes were awesome! I grew up with pancakes from scratch. My dad always made them, but he didn't really go by any recipe. He's old school, measures with his hands and has no real use for written recipes...so, I came here to find a recipe. This one was it! I never had fluffier pancakes. :) Unfortunately, my husband's still a die hard fan of pancake mix from a box, but I figure it's his loss. This recipe's a keeper.

Almond Yummies
There are some major components missing from this recipe. I had to improvise to come up with something that was doughlike enough to create cookies...my improv got good reviews from the fam, but in my opinion, this recipe can't be used as is.
