my boyfriend and i recently bought our first house together in november of '07, which all i cared about finding was a kitchen i could live in. in the end of our long search i finally found one. i love cooking so MY kitchen had to be the most important, then came his garage.lol! we both ended up getting what we wanted. i am learning all the things that being a home owner must know. for instance i am relearning how to do laundry and keeping a house clean on a regualr basis. bless his heart when he does dishes, which he does quite often, however it ends in more work for me having to rewash half of them.lol. i appreciate his help though. finding meals that reheat well and taste just as good is a never ending search. he works 3pm-11pm and i work 12pm-8am so sit down dinners arent usualy a option. we enjoy having fun with friends, riding harleys, camping, shopping, gardening and yard work, listening to music, and watching movies.
My favorite things to cook
food for me, i guess i could say is my biggest hobby. everything from concocting new reipes, to trying new foods, to sitting on this computer for hours finding new ideas. i never get sick of it. cookbooks are another passion of mine. my boyfriend was amazed to see my collection. we are planning a closet remodel for all of them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
making home-made pizza and fighting over whos is better.
My cooking triumphs
anytime i concoct or invent something that turns out how i thought or even better. especially when im asked for the recipe but i cant even remember whats all in it. but the biggest compliment is when i try something new and my very picky eater boyfriend says it tastes like "grandmas"
My cooking tragedies
one more thing i just recently did, actually two nights ago was clean my oven. its a self cleaning gas stove, but i always throw my broiler pan inthere while it cleans.well on saturday we broiled hamburgers and there was ALOT of grease in the oven and on the broiler pan.i should have wiped the broiler pan down first!i should have known better!well it was like two hours later we were laying around watching movies in the living when all of a sudden we couldnt even see eachoter across the room. we couldnt breathe, our eyes were watering, we started running around in the fog opening windows and waveing doors!i thought it was hilarious for some reasone, but jesse didnt! well my oven still hasnt gotten clean and our house still reaks of whatever that smell is. learned my lesson!
