Stay at home mom of two beautiful daughters. One of whom has a milk allergy, so I have learned many new things about cooking. This site has been my favorite for years...always guaranteed to find something to eat!
My favorite things to cook
My children absolutely love tofu stir-fry...weekly meal for us. I also love cooking lasagne...not so much anymore because of the allergies, spaghetti....love adding veggies to the sauce to trick my kids, casseroles, vegetarian cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
TURKEY...need I say more! Sunday dinners were huge in my family. Things have slightly changed, but I love having my mom over to my house for dinner as often as we can, usually once a week. She loves my cooking and always compliments me which is sooo nice!
My cooking triumphs
My lasagne rocks! Although I haven't made it in a couple years due to my daughters milk allergy. (I prefer not to cook two different meals)
I majorly screwed up Down East Maine Pumpkin Bread but it turned into a triumph in the end. I only had pumpkin pie filling, not plain pumpkin. And when I copied it onto a sheet of paper to go bake I completely forgot to write down the sugar. Thankfully the pie filling has some sugar, and everyone that tried it commented on how nice it was to have a yummy bread that wasn't way too sweet. I made mini muffins with the loaf as well, and the kids loved it!
My cooking tragedies
Thankfully my hubby will eat anything... but I'm sure I will have something to write in here soon :)
