About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids. A 4 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I really enjoy cooking. We are living in Hershey PA while my husband finishes up school. I love recipes that are classics and also a good challenge.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to cook almost anything. I am not quite as good at baking. I am trying to get better! The only thing I am good at baking is bread. Fresh bread cooking in the house is my favorite! And a good ethnic dish, like Indian tikka masala.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Italian and so we generally overuse garlic! I love almost all food, but I really love seafood Christmas dinner that I grew up with.
My cooking triumphs
Any meal that turns out good is a triumph! I have yet to triumph a great sourdough bread.
My cooking tragedies
Mushy rice or a flat loaf of bread...both have happened more than once.

Layered Peppermint Bark
Great peppermint bark, I made EXACTLY per recipe. NEXT TIME I will do this: 1) Omit cream from chocolate, it makes it too soft and melts on hands too easily. 2) Melt ALL of the white chocolate at one time and spread on sheet, layer with 1/4 crushed candy 3) Spread all of the semisweet chocolate on top of chilled white chocolate, the semisweet chocolate has a strong flavor, so make the top layer of the semisweet chocolate thinner than the white chocolate ( I was temped to use equal parts chocolate just because I had the semisweet chips left). 4) Sprinkle with the rest of the crushed peppermint candy. Like I said, I tried the exact recipe and the semisweet chocolate didn't ever set up correctly.

Pizza Dough I
Excellent recipe. Out of habit I add yeast, warm water and sugar to bosch for 5 minutes while I gather other ingredients. Then I add oil and salt and mix in one cup of flour at a time until enough flour is added (usually 2 and 3/4Cup). Make sure the middle of the pizza dough is pretty thin and the edges can be thicker. I have made several times and it has always turned out perfect. I usually make one pizza crust and 6 bread sticks. Thanks for the great recipe!

Best-Ever Texas Caviar
This is the BEST fresh bean dip/appetizer ever! Used chickpeas instead of black-eyed peas. Used the juice of one lime. EXCELLENT.
