Princess of Quite a Lot of Kitchen
About this Cook
I'm half-Filipino and grew up tasting all kinds of flavors, so I did the same for my own family. We do global fare--almost every cuisine type is worth a try. I have a huge sweet tooth though, so desserts are my favorite thing to make.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken Mandarin; Baked BBQ Pork Ribs; Chocolate Chip Cookies; Emilie's Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake; Caramels; Strawberry Onion Salad; A-Z Muffins;
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Christmas morning, I hide a tiny plastic Baby Jesus in foil and tuck it into one cinnamon roll. Whoever gets that one gets to put the real figurine in the manger.
My cooking triumphs
Took quite a few years, but I can finally get Thanksgiving and Christmas meals so that everything's ready at the same time!
My cooking tragedies
Macaroni and cheese with canned corn beef and mustard! Eeeeeyuck!!! The recipe was from the back of the mac-n-cheese box, and we think they didn't bother to try it. Or else it was a cruel joke. =)

Sweet Potato Casserole II
This is the first time in my entire life that I've EVER liked sweet potatoes! This was delicious even before I baked it! I added pure vanilla extract like one reviewer suggested, and it was deLISH! This is the easiest and tastiest sweet potato dish I've ever tried. Thank you!

D' Best Chicken N' Dumplings
Guess as a Northerner I'm more accustomed to a light, fluffy dumpling. This one is firm, substantial, almost chewy. The flavor is wonderful, but for anyone looking for an airy, pillowy dumpling, this isn't it.

Peppy's Pita Bread
This recipe is terrific! We spent some time in Israel and fell in love with falafel, and this pita bread is just like the fresh stuff we had there--nothing like it in the store. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was great!
