Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker
I was leery at first, 3 ingredients, and I am not a fan of liquid smoke- this recipe is heavenly! I used the red Hawaiian sea salt and mesquite liquid smoke, the meat literally fell from the bone and is like candy. I wanted to try this prior to having a party, and it is now in my recipe box for life... On the reviews that said it was dry, perhaps you didn't have a tightly fitting crock pot lit, or used too lean a cut of pork. I used pork shoulder- it is the same thing as pork butt (named for the wooden kegs called butts they used to ship this cut of meat in). It was a 6.5 pound cut of meat and it only took 14 hours. I cooked it on low, and sealed the lid with tin foil- my crock pot lid broke several years ago, and I have used a different lid with tin foil to make it secure ever since). Go for it, this recipe is amazing!

Homemade Wonderful Bread
My daughter is allergic to dairy, so I modified the recipe... it is wonderful! I substituted better than milk rice powder for the dry milk, and used a non-dairy margarine. This is the only bread recipe I have found that tasted like real bread for my daughter. I use the bread machine, just because I don't have time to bake bread every day otherwise. This is a keeper, truly a great recipe!
