I've been cooking for a few years now (getting way better by the years), but I can remember when I was about 7 years old that I'd mix up a few things I found in the kitchen and pretend I had my own cooking show.. My kids make faces at some of the things I make, but after convincing them to taste what I've done, they say "Can I have some more?" Baking and Mexican are my favorites, but I like to introduce new things to my taste buds. Flour tortillas I have made a recipe which was at a level of expert and it turned out to be a big hit with the whole family. I wasn't actually cooking I was supposed to boil water for some coffee and I turned on the wrong burner. There was a pan with oil on the burner I'd turned on. The whole pan caught fire and I totally panicked and grabbed the pan and threw it out the door. The oil burned one of my kitchen chairs as I was carrying the pan out the door. :(
