I was born in MI, USA. My wife is from the UK (Great Britain). She had children from a previous marriage, so we move to Great Britain to be with them (although they are grown up now). My wife is looking after her mom who lives with us now. I really and truly view cooking as an art, and while it may be near impossible to master, I am always improving because I love asking questions, asking for advice, asking for opinions, and I am above all, always willing to discuss my own cooking tragedies. I think it is rediculous to not share knowledge, or to be afraid to ask questions, because then the individual is merely re-inventing the wheel or perhaps forcing another individual to re-invent the wheel.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta dishes, steak dishes, and breakfast dishes. I love Southern recipes as well. I am a big fan of chicken, beef, and pork!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Pop is a very versatile cook - He can cook any dish from any Country. My Mom and her side of the family are Polish. I grew up on many different excellent Polish recipes, and I look forward to sharing them on here. I already have her permission lol.
My cooking triumphs
I am really getting spices down to a science now, as well as recipes that require home-made dough. I can see the relationship between a certain food, and the spices and ingredients it calls for. This was not easy for me to learn - In fact, this was (and to a very small extent, still is), my Achilles' heel.
My cooking tragedies
Where should I begin? I've had many tragedies, and probably most of them were a result of an imbalance of spices, or recipes using dough (rising issues). I always learn by my mistakes though. Cooking is a true art.
